«Les trois militants du mouvement pour le climat Extinction Rebellion Québec qui se trouvaient dans la structure métallique du pont Jacques-Cartier depuis tôt ce matin ont été arrêtés vers 8 h 15.
La circulation, qui avait été complètement interrompue à partir de 7 h 30, y compris pour les piétons et les cyclistes, a repris à 8 h 40.
Les trois militants ont été amenés au quartier général de la Sûreté du Québec (SQ), où ils seront interrogés ; ils pourraient faire face à des accusations de méfait.
Les deux femmes et l’homme avaient entrepris leur ascension de la structure du pont un peu avant 6 h, sur la portion nord de la structure, entraînant un important déploiement des services d’urgences ; dont les groupes d’intervention tactique de la SQ et du Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), de même que l’équipe de pompiers-araignée.
Les trois militants, qui ont diffusé une vidéo de leur coup d’éclat en direct sur l’internet, ont brandi une affiche sur laquelle était écrit « Le temps d’écoule, Non TMX, Non GNL », en référence aux projets d’expansion de l’oléoduc Trans Mountain et d’usine de liquéfaction de gaz naturel au Saguenay. »
