The wollemi pine reaches back to prehistoric times. It was thought to be extinct but was discovered in an isolated valley in the Wollemi National Park 200km from Sydney. The location is secret but a number of cuttings were taken from the original trees and have been grown and are now available to the general public.

A payphone or pay phone is a public telephone, with payment made by inserting money (usually coins) or a debit card (a special telephone card or a multi-purpose card) or credit card before a call is made. Payphones are very common in the industrialized world, though the rise of mobile phones has meant a decline in usage, and thus, in recent years, a decrease in the availability of these phones.

A late afternoon at the cemetery... my daughter is playing with some dinosaurs that people have left on an unmarked grave. Each time we go there someone has added to the odd little collection of toys.

A. rusticus. Extremely rare in Holland. Went extinct in 1982, but was rediscovered in 2008. Also 1 sighting in 2010, 2011 and 2012. This is the only sighting from Holland in 2013 so far!!!

Our wonderfully energetic one handed monkey Temberling! You could never tell he only has one hand by the way he swings around and plays.

Lar gibbon (Hylobates lar) is also known as the White-handed Gibbon. The species range is across Asia and sadly in recent decades the population has diminished, making it extinct in China. Forest defragmentation has added to the loss of habitat for this dirunal, arboreal monkey.
