Neat. I just found out that on the 40D you can control the settings including change custom functions of a 580EX II. Very handy if you don't know the C. Fn numbers off the top of your head—like me.

 

Figured I would give it a try with the 580EX, but unfortunately, it was incompatible. I guess I'll have to carry a cheat sheet or something.

 

I guess this is like the feature on the 1D MKIII.
