Peckett 0-4-0 saddle tank (W/No.2158 built in 1955) is on temporary loan to the N.C.B. from the adjacent Albright & Wilson chemicals plant at Kells (the chimney on the left of the Ladysmith Washery belongs to the factory). On a bitterly cold 14th March 1969 it is photographed trundling down the grade on the 'Croft Extension' with empty internal wagons for Haig Colliery. Croft Colliery was originally located to the left, giving the name to this line perched high on the cliff top overlooking St. Bees Head and the Irish Sea.

Ruby Beach Trail, Olympic National Park

Ruby Beach’s broad landscape made our views stretched and extended, and the coastline extraordinarily slender and graceful. I was amazed by the thousands of faces of ocean, who never ceased to move, and never gets tired of creating beauty.

This 25’ extension cord on an encased reel with built-in cicuit breaker has been about the most useful and reliable Christmas gifts I’ve ever received. I believe I received it in December, 1983 and it has been handily accessible in every place I’ve lived during that period. It was a Christmas gift from my late friend Tom who passed during February of this year, 2024. So now I will remember my best friend with something that symbolizes that long standing reliability. So thank you, Tom.

The case states that it was made in Canada.

I recently had the fantastic opportunity to photograph a fantastic piece of history right in the middle of Stoke on Trent.

Sometimes known as the 'Savoy of the Midlands' the Leopard Inn in Burslem certainly holds a lot of hidden secrets. The Leopard Inn is one of Stoke-on-Trent's hidden gems. A listed building in Burslem, it is steeped in history and the discovery of tunnels and 58 bedrooms that have been left exactly as they were when they were sealed between the 1930's and 1950's has brought it centre-stage again.

The Leopard Inn dates from the early 1700's. Initially a coaching house and Inn, there has been a working pub on this site for 300 years or more. In 1878 a three storey extension including 57 rooms were built. The ambition was to create in Burslem 'The Savoy of the North'. The rooms to the front of the Leopard are today in use as a pub and restaurant, and to the rear the hotel lies abandoned and purportedly haunted.

The Leopard Inn, on Market Place, has become internationally well-known following its appearance on Most Haunted in 2007.

Yesterday, I built my dollhouse. Maybe tomorrow, I will put the primer and certainly glue the wallpaper on :)

This industrialised kitchen extension blends brilliantly with the period feel of it's listed host building; complimenting the brick work whilst remaining unafraid to claim an identity of it's own through the use of masculine grey powder coasted aluminium and a stainless steel kitchen design. The lean-to design of this structure works well; encapsulating the views of nature both across the garden space as well as from above as the canopy of trees shades the roof from extra heat.

Playing about with extension tubes to take macro photos on my 85mm f1.2 lens! They did a pretty good job for £20!

Scrambled to get the shot for today... took some more dew shots in the morning, but wasn't "feeling" it... just couldn't capture what I had envisioned. So, thought of taking advantage of the fast moving clouds in the afternoon.. finding a location was the hard part.

Not entirely happy with the exposure, but, still learning this art of long exposures..

There's a bit of a scaling issue with this part, so I need to extend it about 1/2" forward

South extension of Clamber Up seen from the garden terrace.

This is my in-laws' family house at Spanish Point, Pembroke Parish, Bermuda.

This structure supports a room extension to the original house, and is built on stilts because of the steep slope of the hillside. It was cantilevered over the drive so that the room itself (out of view) could be on the same floor as the rest of main living space of the house. Although the house has a garage, this area is always used as a car port and sometimes as a patio area. The main living room is in this extension. (The wide angle of my lens setting has 'stretched' the extension.) The view looks NW.

This part of the garden is a narrow terrace, and just a small part of the whole garden. The garden continues up (to the R) and down (to the L) in a series of terraces.

This dining extension attached to the original kitchen of a London terrace house creates added space in the home whilst the remainder of the owners outside space can still be utilised well as a patio. This also allows dinner times to spill out into the garden during nice weather and makes for a great area in which to socialise with friends and family alike.
