The bridge under the expressway is Nihonbashi. It is an important point that serves as the starting point of a major highway.
This bridge was built in 1603 and has been replaced each time it was destroyed by fire. The current bridge is the 20th generation, completed in 1911. The expressway above was opened to traffic in 1963.

Excerpt from The Toronto Star, September 10, 2022:
Park Lawn Underpass Mural 2016 by Cindy Scaife: “I wanted to keep it upbeat and joyful because traditionally underpasses are dimly lit spots and also very often neglected. I wanted to give something to the community that was uplifting, and that resonates with the history of the surrounding area. The big strawberry is a nod to the food terminal, which is nearby. Doing my research, I also found there used to be strawberry fields around the area that were quite plentiful.
I remember from my childhood, when my family went to Exhibition Place, you could see the Seahorse Motel from the highway. I always liked that kind of vintage sign, so I wanted to include it.
A really cool thing that resulted from working on the mural is that one day, a woman stopped her car, got out and started talking to me. She was very excited. She told me her parents owned that motel, and she grew up there. So, the mural meant a lot to them because the motel was no longer there. When the mural was unveiled, the woman addressed the crowd and talked about the history of the motel. That was lovely.”

From here you can see the Metropolitan Expressway.
It is stretched all over Tokyo so as to sew between the buildings.
The military truck was a good four vehicles ahead of us when it swerved and hit the center island barrier (this way while I was on my way back to Singapore from Malacca). Two soldiers were tossed to the other lane and luckily they were not hit by oncoming cars. The driver (above) had wounds all over, and another soldier lies pinned under the truck. My limo driver had to stop and help the injured; I took a few shots of the scene. My prayers to those who were injured; hopefully, everyone made it.
Life is too fleeting, live it to the fullest..
This expressway changes name from the Ayer Rajah Expressway to the Central Expressway as it enters this tunnel. It has an interesting overpass that makes a U-turn over it. It has a nice leading line and if you catch it with the right wind and clouds in the sky it can be quite dramatic. If you are on the expressway at peak hours it isn't so dramatic because you'll be at crawling speed. ;-)
This is Cahill Expressway, the road which leads to Sydney Harbour Bridge. I took this photo on Friday night 27 March 2015, knowing that on Saturday morning there won't be much cloud for sunrise shot. I've been wanting to come to this spot for so long. I google-ed this spot all the time wondering if I can get a good shot of light trails. Well on that night my wonder was confirmed.
What do you guys think?

stabby shot this photograph while he was driving,.. bad habit
but still legal - since the law here only prohibits using cell phone while driving
stabby shot this photo, and i think i will put his stuff on my flickr, gradually over time -
since we don't really know what to do with these cityscape photographs.
Normally, people don't look at them that much. However, each place - each moment
did have some personal meaning, and would be sad to leave them behind. So, i will
put them here..
info :
that skinny tower in photograph called BAIYOK TOWER 2 - the tallest office building in Thailand. someone told me that all television stations in Bangkok broadcasting their signal from that tower. So, if it's true, that means if anything happens to the top of the tower, there will be no television signal in Bangkok and surrounding cities..
(not include cable / SAT TV because they using different system) hmm
i hope it's true...

Thursday was a hot Spring day, nearly too hot for a walk under the Riverside Expressway with our Thursday photography group to practise some architectural shots. While the river is brown, this has been processed and the colour exaggerated... just a tad.
