Zlatyu Boyadzhiev is one of the most well-known Buglarian painters, famous for his unique expressionist style. He has lived most of his life in Plovdiv and one of the mansions in the old town is dedicated to his art.

The battle between good and evil. That has been the plot of the Christian story since Adam and Eve. Devil-like figures are the personification of evil. They are the enemies of faith, seducing us into making bad decisions.
The Bible’s many stories about good and evil provide inspiration in abundance for artists. (…) Angels fall as well as people and turn into monstrous devils.
The struggle between good and evil is still topical in art. But who or what is evil? Does evil come from outside, or are we inherently evil?

Landscape with a Girl Skipping Rope (1936)
In a vast landscape with a high horizon, a girl is skipping rope. Bones in the foreground, dark, elongated shadows, and dramatic clouds create a menacing atmosphere. Dali did not paint reality, but dreams. Is this a nightmare? The two skeletons on the right might be Adam and Eve, banished from Paradise.

De strijd tussen goed en kwaad. Dat is de plot van het christelijke verhaal sinds Adam en Eva. Duivelachtige figuren zijn de personificatie van het kwaad. Ze zijn de vijanden van het geloof en verleiden ons tot het nemen van slechte beslissingen.
De vele Bijbelse verhalen over goed en kwaad bieden kunstenaars volop inspiratie. (…) Engelen vallen, net als mensen, en veranderen in monsterlijke duivels.
De strijd tussen goed en kwaad is nog steeds actueel in de kunst. Maar wie of wat is het kwaad? Komt het kwaad van buitenaf, of zijn wij van nature slecht?

Landschap met touwspringend meisje (1936)
In een uitgestrekt landschap met een hoge horizon is een meisje aan het touwspringen. Botten op de voorgrond, donkere, langgetrekte schaduwen en dramatische wolken zorgen voor een dreigende sfeer. Dal schilderde niet de werkelijkheid, maar dromen,. Is di teen nachtmerrie? De twee skeletten rechts zijn mischien Adam en Eva die uit het paradijs worden verbannen.

This expressionist photo depicts a distorted and fragmented figure, conveying a sense of isolation and anguish. The blurred and obscured features of the model's face, as well as the contorted positioning of their hands, evoke a sense of emotional turmoil and inner conflict. The obscured identity of the subject in the photo, coupled with their closed eyes and obscured face, adds to the enigmatic quality of the photo. The high contrast between light and shadow, as well as the soft focus and blurred edges, contribute to the overall mood of unease and intensity. The photo is intended to leave the viewer with a sense of ambiguity, uncertainty, and existential angst.

I only had a short time in Hanover and I had to get this building sketched. I’m not very happy with the sketch. I think I put too much pressure on myself, and it was a lot of perspective to get right.

In the expressionist-style Catholic parish church of St. Anton in Augsburg's Antonsviertel district, which was built between 1924 and 1927. The architect was Michael Kurz (see previous picture).

Darkening times...
Our world has turned upside down in darkening times, with the moral compass lost in chaos and confusion. Our world is crumbling as the law has become corrupted by rot within establishment through abuse of power, lies, and false narratives. Inustice has become weaponised with violence and terror normalised. law-abiding citizens become political prisoners whilst criminals and terrorists are rewarded with rape, knife attacks, and terrorist supporters normalised with rape justified as an act of resistance, leaving rape victims dehumanised. When the soul purpose you morally stand for is expressed through inciting hatred and violent acts of harm, reducing the freedom and rights of an individual to nothing, you are not a freedom fightor or resistance. This is only an invite to future terror and destruction. There is a huge awakening and time to stand up for our values of freedom and humanity to save our world.
My heart and prayers go to all the innocent victims and families who are suffering in the world from terrorism and other modern-day cruelty, especially in America, Syria, Israel, Gaza, and Britain. I am thinking about the struggles women and children are faced with every day who are bravely fighting for their freedom and rights and hope they are soon liberated and live life in freedom and peace soon.
Prayers that all remaining hostages of Israel are safe soon brought home to their families' loved ones. ️🙏
