iPhoneography on iPhone 7 Plus using Superimpose, Aviary and Instagram apps.

Again straight down on a concrete floor. Not quite straight out of the camera, but this is essentially what one would see at the site. Remnants of paint and texture left as a byproduct of intentional art work and gallery exhibits.

I built this as a background, but it turned out being more interesting than the finished piece.

This major work of Abstract Expressionism was purchased by the Whitlam government in 1973.

The lack of recognisable symbolism in Blue Poles is deliberate. Much of Pollock’s work was about externalising his seemingly troubled internal states.

Housed at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra.
