66001 passes Crewe Salop Goods Junction with 6O42 1131 Halewood (Jaguar Cars) to Southampton Eastern Docks on 7th February 2018.

The freight only location takes traffic north and south en route mainly to and through Basford Hall yard. Crewe station is out of sight behind the houses on the right of the picture.

The car train is seen on the Up Liverpool Independent line, with the Manchester Independents in the background.

Maximum speed on all lines at this point is 10mph, to account for the fact that all are worked Permissively and trains could be entering a section of track occupied by one or more trains. Visibility and track condition are also a consideration in the low PSR.

This is the collection of materials that packaged my recent purchase. Thinking about using this when when talking about consumerism, math, environmental impact. Many different questions can be asked.

I will measure & tag the items. Shipping times, destinations and scans will follow.

All of this came in two separate shipments through two separate distributors. The boxes were big, the contents small.

How much space did this take up on the flight to Moose Jaw?

Why did it go to Mount Hop 3 times?

How many computers are shipped through this process?

What is the estimated amount of weight?

What are the impacts of this purchase? Enviro, economically

The new Cortina was introduced in September 1962. Supervisor of the design team was Roy Brown Jr. (Can/US, 1916-2013), who also designed the 1958-1960 Ford Edsel.

The Cortina had three different engine types: a 1.2, a 1.5 and a 1.6 Litre (by Lotus). One could choose between a 2-door or 4-door saloon and a 5-door estate version.

The Cortina received a minor face-lift in 1964, most visible at the front.

This car was in excellent state and for sale at that moment.

The 44th Grey Cup game was played on November 24, 1956 before 27,425 fans at Varsity Stadium in Toronto.

The favoured Edmonton Eskimos won their third straight Grey Cup over the Montreal Alouettes by the score of 50 to 27.

Edmonton coach Pop Ivy surprised many by starting sophomore Canadian quarterback Don Getty. With Jackie Parker, Johnny Bright, Normie Kwong and Rollie Miles in the backfield, they were record setters. Bright rushed for a then Grey Cup record 169 yards (surpassed by Kory Sheets in 2013), and Parker added another 129, and the Eskimos team total was a record 456 yards. Montreal rushed for 191 yards, so both teams set a single Grey Cup game record of 647 yards.

Montreal had the game tied as late as the second quarter (20 to 20) before Edmonton took total control. While Getty was superb, with 2 touchdowns, the great Sam Etcheverry had one of his most disappointing days as a Lark, completing only 15 of 38 passes for 293 yards and a Grey Cup record 4 interceptions.

I was told by the driver that this one is part of an order for 150, and follows the delivery of a batch of three in 2008.

I photographed this car in the Ferrari Owners' Club area in the paddock at the Christie's International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1992. It's a 1951 Ferrari 212 Export Barchetta, chassis 0136E with bodywork by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan. It has a 2,563cc V12 engine designed by Gioacchino Colombo and was first owned by Bobby Baird from Northern Ireland, who with Jean Lucas finished in sixth place with the car in the 1951 Tourist Trophy race at Dundrod, winning the 3 litre class.

This is from a negative in my collection showing one of the London Docks, I think the Victoria Docks, sometime circa 1955.

In the picture is the cruise ship 'Presidente Peron' that regularly ran the Argentina - London route.

To the right is the Royal Mail Lines 'Loch Ryan' (built for the war effort in 1943 and scrapped in 1960) that also regularly ran to South America and the Caribbean.
