Coolidge is a Semi-Ghost Town in western Hamilton County. A once-important Santa Fe Trail town with a bank, schools and an opera house, Coolidge today is a tiny place with about 80 people, but does still have an active bed & breakfast!

01.08.11 EXPLORED

Today was my first day of classes. Everything was pretty normal except for this problem I've been having with my microecon class! I went to the lecture this morning even though I'm not technically enrolled in the class, and then went to the prof afterwards to ask how I could sign up, because when I tried enrolling online it wouldn't let me because it said there was a pre-requisite I needed in order to get in.

Apparently this pre-req gets covered by this math placement test I took over 3 semesters ago during my freshman orientation, so I went to this one office to find out how I scored to see if I met the pre-req. Apparently I got a 40% on the math placement test and you need at least a 57%, sooo this obviously was a problem. The lady there told me that they're administering the test every day this week at the library, so I'm going to take it sometime this week and HOPEFULLY I pass. If not, I'll be stuck taking Algebra II instead of micro, because that's what type of math is on the exam.

And I reeeally don't want to take that because I took Algebra II when I was a soph in high school, and I really don't want to be taking the same class as a soph in college. That, and it would be a waste of a semester class that could be spent taking something more important.

sigh sigh apple pie. Sorry for the rant, guys. All of this was just really unexpected and now I have no clue what to study -__-

I took one of the baby birds out to explore... All it wants is to hide under my legs. We figured out a name for him, he is called Tim! I'll try to post some lego later this week.

Camera problems today:(

It may be time to invest in a new camera (long story). After discoverying that I had lost a little over 100 shots, I headed out to run some errands when this caught my eye. I had to crop out some trees on the right but other than that there was no other manipulation.

Luckly the camera is working now but I think its on its way out.

Just my anecdotal depiction of flickers "explore". Pumpkins on the wagon equal "EXPLORE". Sassy and I went to the local pumpkin patch today. It's October. Why not? Lot's of folks with their little one's, creating October memories, picking out "jack-O-lanterns". We were of the minority, old empty nester's, vicariously enjoying the event. Too much screaming and we just walk away. You know what I mean if you're 55 and older and have the AARP invites comin' in the mail,..........screamin' kids are a option. Unless you're one of those old guy's, getting AARP invites in the mail, with a trophy wife that wanted kids younger than she was. I'm thankin' God I can't relate. I've got a trophy wife. She gets AARP invites in the mail and just wants grand kids.

I don't upload a new version of this every single time a new picture makes it onto explore, but I couldn't resist posting this nice and very rewarding 6x8 grid. Thanks to everybody who comments on my pictures or looks at them, has added them to their favourites or has blogged them. Flickr rocks!

First day out. Exploring the 'wild'

The 2015 Explore@NASAGoddard event, on Sept. 26, celebrated the 25th anniversary of the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope. Investigating everything from black holes to planets around other stars, Hubble has ushered in a new chapter of humanity’s exploration of the universe, and the venerable telescope continues to answer some of the most compelling astronomical questions of our time.

Additionally, all areas of Goddard’s research – Earth science, heliophysics, planetary science, astrophysics, and engineering and technology – were presented, as each discipline plays a critical part in NASA's ongoing journey to reach new heights, reveal the unknown and advance scientific understanding for the benefit of humankind.
