This was shot low to the waters edged as I had one of my tripod legs in the water.
Wahclella Falls Trail offers a relatively easy, 2.4 mile out-and-back day hike through a slot canyon. It's one of the more spectacular waterfalls in the Columbia Gorge area.

This past Saturday was the day that I finally got the long awaiting Milky Way shot rising over Quechee Gorge. At the beginning of the summer, I checked Photopills for interesting places to photograph the Milky Way and Quechee Gorge felt like a wonderful location. I visited the area a few times to get an idea of the location and how to composite the photo. I came down with a friend in June, and realized that I was too early and didn't want to wait 2-3 hours for the Milky Way to align with the gorge. I had set a reminder for an August 27th photoshoot, but when the weather looked promising on August 20th I drove down to Quechee. That sort of worked, but there were a few clouds passing through that ruined the idea I had in mind. I was definitely worried about the weather on the 27th, but the weather turned out perfect!
I arrived on location around 7 pm and went ahead to get some vertical panoramas of the gorge. I took multiple photos during golden hour into blue hour. I ended up taking around 30 different exposures of the gorge. I used the same foreground for all three photos here and replaced the sky accordingly.
Total photographing duration time: 7:44:17PM EST to 10:11:06PM EST.

Sometimes you are lucky enough to find models ready to walk barefoot in the forest on a cold Saturday afternoon, get covered in dirt, laid down on wet branches and have their faces spray painted.
In the following days, I will be posting the results of my session with Alicia, this session was inspired by our shared love for horror movies, hope you will enjoy.
Thanks you so much Alicia ! <3
