Ok, i know i said yesterdays upload would be my last before heading to Dunstanburgh but i couldn't resist adding this to complete my Spurn Point series first.
This was taken on the same day as all the other Spurn Point images and as the sun was rising i looked over my shoulder to see the grasses in the dunes light up with a golden glow. So, i made a quick dash up there to capture this. Composition is not briliant but I was scurrying about all over the place like an excited child. So, a quick tip - while concentrating on whats in front of you always have a quick check behind you, you never know what you may be missing!! I will get back to Spurn soon.
But for now, it's off to get ready for for my two day workshop and photoshoot of Dunstanburgh and Banburgh Castles run by Doug Chinnery (thefatcat44).
Take care

A quiet Sunday morning at Larkrigg (bridge 180) near Kendal on the dry northern reaches of the Lancaster canal. I was there for about an hour before the tow-boat circus turned up. I was a bit worried at one point, if someone was to asked me what I was waiting for, my reply of "a boat" might have caused some concern. I did think that if I added that Captain Jack Sparrow will be in command, the police would soon arrive! The larch trees on the left were planted by the canal company, very forward thinking of them, as their boats used Larch.

Just got back from the lake.. Trying to get some 'good' moon shots again, but just couldn't pass up the opportunity of a shot with the colour like this.

Used my 1:2 macro lens attachment to see what interesting photos I could capture.
The camera's flash really brought out some neat-looking patterns in and on top of the icicle.
Except for re-sizing to 300 DPI at 16X9, this is an unedited photograph.

I would have liked this shot more had it have been totally in focus, but they were quite a way, away, and I didn't have a tripod..:O(
But I liked the way I caught Mother and Child looking like each other and in the same direction...just luck I guess..lol..:O)

Willie, Yan, and I had spent the night in Page, AZ and we found ourselves with half a day to kill. We arrived at Lower Antelope Canyon before they opened and were the first ones in the canyon. We didn't see anyone for over an hour. One of my fellow photographer friends, Jave, has a wonderful photo in Lower Antelope Canyon of light beams in front of the Granite Chief, and we hoped we might be able to replicate his photo.
At some point one of the Navajo guides walked past and I stopped him and asked if he knew what time the light beams crossed in front of the Granite Chief. He told me that it was later in the afternoon but we had a flight to catch and couldn't wait for that to happen. Willie wanted to get a photograph of the Chief anyways. Willie took some shots and just as we were about to leave I noticed a light beam forming near the eye of the Chief! Sure enough the tiny little light beam grew and grew as the sun came up through the canyon. We stopped and fired a number of photos. I like how this looks like the Chief was Cyclop's early teacher ... look at those laser beams coming out of his eye!
