Hi, in my interpretation I have chosen our beloved Danbo for an just cause, I think. Daily sitting, lying or who are begging on the street in hot or cold, we kind-hearted, not see them. For us they are invisible.

All and all the photographic set was created by me.

Note well the details, the wall looks like an american construction, the phone also.

The murales instead recalls Paternò, my little country, at the feet of Etna in Sicily (Italy), and I with the red shirt.

This is one of many Yosemite photographs I shot the day after Christmas. Yosemite on Badger Pass, inspired by another flickr friend, Mark Niebauer, whom I believe has a brilliant capture of this area.

I'm Back!!!! My broadband router failed

Thought it was an ISP fault at first, but after waiting a week to ge a check out from them, I just bought a new router and it is working, so assume the old one just stopped on the modem side - might be lightening related (who knows) as we had a bit last week.

-------------

“The photo was taken in one of the rooms of the Gallery of Modern Art in Milan, Via Palestro. The statue in the foreground, inspired by the work of Casanova, is the Venus of Pompeo Marchesi… The image of the woman in a burqa instead is the work of an anonymous photographer… The two women (like their cultures), they look but do not speak. I wonder if one day (finally and without violence) they really will be able to talk to each other sharing what they can convey deeper?”

Merry christmas and happy new year! Let's hope the new year of 2012 will be favorable for photography and exploring of nature. Ofcourse couple of volcanoes and unexpected adventures would be great too ;-)

This is a self-portrait inside a recently formed ice cave in the glaciers on the south coast of Iceland. Entering this cave is only possible in a freezing period due to the "floor" is actually a small lagoon.

Cheers, Skarpi

The only way I could get "close'ish" was to sit for 2hrs in the bushes, hoping she would show.I had watched her for the previous week and took a chance on my location....If she had landed on a different post I would have missed the shot.

Luckily she had her fingers (legs) crossed for me.

(316/366) We're making an conscious effort to buy more locally produced food. Supervalu in Wellingtonbridge would be our nearest decent sized supermarket, I really liked how they have displayed this fresh produce in wheelbarrows, the person who thought this up deserves a medal (best viewed Large to see the wellington boots!) As well as vegetables they offer a wide range of local produce including fish (of course), butter, bread, hen & duck eggs, bacon, sausages & the most delicious yogurts.

Lovely sunny day here after torrential rain last night. I'm off to explore the grounds of Johnstown Castle with the Wexford Naturalists' Field Group this afternoon so I'll catch up with comments this evening. Have a great weekend everyone.
