Lion the Mastiff lies on his master's grave at Highgate Cemetery in London.
You can read all about him here:
After the Methodists sold the 1905 Central Hall, major restoration work was undertaken on the building in 1997/8, which reopened in November 1998 as licensed premises called Grand Central.
The windows (among other things) were decorated in a "sympathetic" art-nouveau style supposed to be "in-keeping" with the rest of the building's architecture.
A bit like Marmite - you either love it or hate it.
Decided to go check out a sim today. This one was pretty cool. Lots of Lava.. there was a train.. robots.. a floating pirate ship. It's cool.

...as in I'm pretty sure being upside down is good for their brain development. Don't quote me on that though. Unbelievably this is my fifth explore in 5 days!!!!!

HI!
My name is Jake. I want to thank all my Flickr friends who have wished me so well and awaited my arrival with such encouraging words, thoughts and prayers. Since I am a little bundle of joy [so I'm told] my daddy may be busy for a little while and unable to post as many pictures here as he usually does! That's OK. He will be changing diapers, helping me eat and introducing me to our new and wonderful world, one bird, bug, book and beautiful day at a time...

The story of this photo:
This is my latest macro shot. Over the last few weeks, I have been spending my time doing a lot of stuff that did not have too much to do with taking or editing photos. It did have to do with photography, but just not with the creative part of it. Anyway, yesterday, I got fed up with this stuff and I started messing around with my macro gear. The sun just went down and I found this tiny foilage with those delicate little hairs. I figured that this would look great against the sun. So, I got out my little syringe, applied a few droplets and took a whole bunch of shots with the sun in different spots relative to the foilage.
Initailly, I went with an aperture of f/20 to f/25 to get all of the leaves in focus. But that brought parts of the background too much into focus too. So, I went with f/8 which blurred the background entirely, and I took different shots with different foci. Then I used focus stacking in Photoshop to blend those images together. Et Voilà, subject in focus, background blurred.
And here is the lesson for you: Always know what you can do to an image in post-processing while you are shooting. This may help you solve problems and lets you create images that may be very difficult to create otherwise.
How it was shot:
> Taken with a tripod
> Three exposures - used focus stacking to bring the whole subject into focus
> Camera: Nikon D7000
> Lens: Nikon AF-S Micro-Nikkor 105mm 1:2,8G VR
How it was post-processed:
> Post-processing was done in Photoshop
> Topaz DeNoise
> Topaz Infocus for sharpening
> Topaz Details for bringing out the details in the petals and some basic color correction
> Saturation adjustent layer (master)
> Vibrance layer (vibrance)

Pulicat Lagoon is the second largest brackish water lagoon in India, after Chilika Lake. Pulicat Lagoon is considered to be the second largest brackish water body in India measuring 759* km2. The Lagoon is one the three important wetlands to attract North-East Monsoon rain clouds during October to December season to Tamil Nadu. (AP) The lagoon was cut across in the middle the Sriharikota Link Road, which divided the water body into lake and marshy land. The lake encompasses the Pulicat Lake Bird Sanctuary.
Every year approximately 15,000 greater flamingos are reported to visit the lake along with pelicans, kingfishers, herons, painted storks, spoonbills and ducks. The highest concentrations of flamingo are found in the periphery of the lagoon where the water level is below40 centimetres (16 in). The concentrations of flamingos are also associated with high algal, fish and benthic diversity.Other water birds in the area include spot-billed pelican, seven species of herons and egrets, painted stork, greater flamingos, ducks, 20 species of shorebirds, gulls, terns, little grebe, Indian cormorant, little cormorant, Asian openbill stork, black-headed ibis, Eurasian spoonbill, lesser whistling teal, spotbill duck, great thick-knee and stone curlew. Several species of wintering waterfowl have been noted including bar-headed goose, ruddy shelduck, Eurasian wigeon, common teal, northern pintail, garganey, northern shoveller, common pochard, brown-headed gull, black-headed gull, whiskered tern, gull-billed tern and Caspian tern. Birds of prey which appear in winter are the: white-bellied sea eagle, harriers and peregrine falcons.
