My journey through Western Canada continues as I head out further east, leaving the Rocky Mountains behind in exchange for the "vast open Prairies" of lower Saskatchewan. It is here where the VIA Rail train stops again, in the town of Saskatoon (the province's largest town) and I am enjoying a two day break in a city that has truly and deeply surprised me in many ways.

Spending a week in September with Québec First Nation Tribes, we have learned a great deal about the cultural practices and ways of living of the Cree, Wendat, Ilnu and other nations that have lived here before European settles arrived. For the second time on this trans-Canada journey of mine, I have returned to beautiful Banff & the Rocky Mountains, recognising its spirit of international minds, heart-warming locals and magical natural surroundings. I've made it to Toronto! After leaving Western Canada, Toronto is my gateway city into exploring the great provinces of Ontario & Québec further along my trip. Look at what I found around the city, including arts, culture, food & a surprising reading event of the #CreativeTravelersHandbook too!
