My journey through Western Canada continues as I head out further east, leaving the Rocky Mountains behind in exchange for the "vast open Prairies" of lower Saskatchewan. It is here where the VIA Rail train stops again, in the town of Saskatoon (the province's largest town) and I am enjoying a two day break in a city that has truly and deeply surprised me in many ways.

Lucky enough to experience Canadian Thanksgiving alongside our beautiful Canadian friends from Toronto, we are invited to travel north in the vast province of Ontario to a place called "Georgian Bay", from where we took several little trips around the Lake District area.

Amidst artists, winemakers, coffeeshop owners and simply incredibly resourceful, talented and warm-hearted people. Sounds like a snapshot of what Canada is all about? For the second time on this trans-Canada journey of mine, I have returned to beautiful Banff & the Rocky Mountains, recognising its spirit of international minds, heart-warming locals and magical natural surroundings.
