Am 26. Juli 2025 zeigte sich Stuttgart von seiner stilleren Seite – Regen, spiegelnde Straßen und ein fast leerer Schlossplatz.
Zwischen Tropfen, Reflexionen und gedämpftem Licht bot die Stadt eine ganz eigene Stimmung: ruhig, klar und überraschend farbig.
Mit der Fujifilm X-H2 entstanden diese Aufnahmen – konzentriert auf Licht, Struktur und Atmosphäre eines Sommertags, der anders war als geplant, aber genau deshalb besonders.

This scene appeared absolutely uninteresting to me in the summer when all the plants were covered in green leaves. But as often when most of them has fallen, much more structure and character is unveiled. Love the shots with thousands of sticks, as it remembers me to pencil strokes. And for sure, the red color complements wonderfully the white snow.

In der Solinger Dampfschleiferei Loosen Maschinn verschmelzen Vergangenheit und Gegenwart. Ein stilles Bild von Erinnerung, Handwerk und der Kraft des Augenblicks.
Found some fine heaps of earth which were finely illuminated by the setting sun while the moon rises beyond. The scene remembers to shots of dunes somewhere in the Namibian desert, for example. I was really amazed when I saw the result on my camera screen and are pretty happy with the final result.

In late October I visited the Volzemer Stein, a geological formation in Northern Black Forest. Have been there for a little scouting trip only once before this visit. At the date, the region was in peak autumn color, so everything looked vibrant and beautiful. It was a calm morning with plus 10°C and a little rain in the night. Only a few drops from the leaves and some cracking in the undergrowth interrupted the silence casually. Despite it is hard to set up a composition and to focus in the dark, I managed to get some shots in the very early pre-dawn light. As sunrise came closer the sky turned red and gave me brilliant colorful and diffuse light which made the rocks glowing.

Un balcon pour la vallée de la Nahe - c'est ainsi que vous découvrirez la plate-forme d'observation aérienne en acier, qui s'élève à sept mètres au-dessus de la falaise d'une ancienne carrière située au dessus de la vallée de la Nahe. Sous le fond de la plate-forme, la paroi rocheuse s'abaisse verticalement sur environ 60 mètres, puis sur 40 mètres de plus jusqu'à la Nahe. Johannisberg, la Nahe-Skywalk est un autre point fort du Vitaltour Wildgrafenweg certifié, qui se déroule à proximité immédiate.
Profitez d'une vue inoubliable sur la vallée de la Nahe, Hellberg, la ville de Kirn et la carrière actuellement exploitée - un plaisir panoramique avec une bonne dose de sensations fortes est garanti. Debout, la vue peut s'éloigner.

A balcony for the Nahe valley - this is how you will discover the steel aerial observation platform, which rises seven meters above the cliff of an old quarry located above the Nahe Valley. Below the bottom of the platform, the rock wall drops vertically for about 60 meters, then for another 40 meters to the Nahe. Johannisberg, the Nahe-Skywalk is another highlight of the certified Vitaltour Wildgrafenweg, which takes place in the immediate vicinity.
Enjoy an unforgettable view of the Nahe Valley, Hellberg, the town of Kirn and the currently mined quarry - panoramic fun with a healthy dose of thrills is guaranteed. Standing, the view can move away.
How to get there: Coming from the B41 in Hochstetten-Dhaun, turn onto Dhauner-Straße/K9 and follow its route. In St. Johannisberg follow the signs. Parking spaces are available in front of the village.

It was the - so far - hottest day of the year, with up to 36°C in south-west Germany. Originally, I was looking for some dead trees, but the subject wasn't what I have hoped for. While driving home, I made an unplanned stop at a big road construction site we have these days. Attracted by the nice sandstones, I bumbed into this little scene of cracked mud, which I was absolutely fascinated about. The next day, the scene has vanished, because of some heavy rainfall.

Am 3. Oktober 2025 führte mich eine Wanderung auf den Großen Hörselberg in Thüringen – bei klarem Licht, warmem Herbstwind und weitem Blick über das Land.
Von oben reichte die Sicht bis zum Großen Inselsberg und hinüber nach Eisenach, wo die Wartburg in der Sonne glänzte.
Die Fujifilm X-H2 war mein Begleiter – ideal, um Farben, Strukturen und die ruhige Weite dieses Tages festzuhalten. Kein Nebel, keine Eile, nur Licht, Landschaft und Stille.
