"Queen Nefertiti is the wife of Akhenaten. Her name means 'the beautiful has come' and her bust is certainly stunning-one of Egypt's most famous works of art, is the living woman such a beauty? Probably, the trend of the time is for realistic portrayals. The bust is discovered in 1912, in the workshop of the sculptor Thutmose. His other stucco studies suggest that he experiements with many portrait techniques as he perfects the legendary head of the queen in a second workshop nearby, a stucco copy is found 20 years after the bust discovery. It appears that another artist may have used it as a model."
