This unique looking tree had the most incredible looking blossoms that were fully colored. The time of day was just right and the wonderful vivid colors of this place show what a fabulous place it is for a photographer.
On November 30 this building, housing the former Touring Club do Brasil, re-opened as SESI Lab, modeled after the Exploratorium museum of science, technology and arts in San Francisco.

I headed over to the Marina District after shooting at Lombard Street, but the sky was too dark for the best shots. I reduced the shadows quite a bit to brighten the sky and also desaturated the orange and yellow tones. I still have trouble with clipped highlights on these types of shots. It may just be a limitation of my camera sensor.

Xylophone seems like the logical follow up to "Chime Line". How can you not play them when they are right there waiting for you?!

another workshop in SF on Reportage at the exploratorium, great place but worth dozens of sketches and many hours of trying out all the amazing experiments.
This huge mirror always had a nice crowd in front of it being amazed at the distorted images. The kids had fun making their heads change shape by moving around the mirror. If you have time when visiting San Francisco, this is an amazing building full of over 600 scientific hands on interactive displays like this one. The building is in Pier 15 right on the bay. This is a shot from the grounds of the San Francisco Exploratorium. I didn't spend much time there, we were just passing through on the way to a ballgame. I really liked this picture, other than the fact that the sky was a flat gray that really sucked the life out of the shot. I converted it to a high-contrast black and white, with a touch of sepia and a border to give it an "old" feel. 24SEP09

The Exploratorium in San Francisco moved into it's new digs in Pier 15 and to celebrate the opening they had this amazing light show projected on the front of the building.
Today was the second and last day that the lightshow was up so I just had to go check it out, and I have to say it was well worth it - what a sensational mixture of light and sound! Already looking forward to checkout out the inside of it too.
This was a temporay installation at the Exploratorium science museum to encourage curiosity about comets.
