A juvenile Northern Cardinal carefully explores the area under the bird feeders. Alert for larger birds, chipmunks, squirrels and predators, the young cardinal chooses to forage in the gardens that are less occupied and stays close to plants that can provide protective cover.

Some of the best places I have been have not been accessed by tracks or trails or roads and have involved a little exploration in to the unknown. It is not always a given that going off track will mean you find that special place but when stumbling out of the rugged wilderness in to a place that few if any have ever been it's like stumbling on a new world.
This was from a recent trip out in to the trackless forest where I discovered a new three teared waterfall and a new canyon area. Hoping to get back to these spots now with a rope and a camera to push into the unknown even further. Now turn the computer off and go explore ;)
A photo from our epic backpacking trip to Christopher McCandless' bus, we hiked 20 miles in, and 20 miles back out, through highlands, swamps, forests, and rivers. it was an amazing journey.

I was going out for a walk with my Lil' Bratz (I love taking pix of them around Tufts University, since I live on campus :P) when I noticed the abandoned VERY old dollhouse on my back porch :P I've never paid much attention to it, but lately, I've been uber-interested in Urban Exploration, and thought this would be such a cute shot :)
