this is the body of a frog with all the spawn having burst out of it. Of course the frog was dead. I didnt know if the spawn could still live - if it was ready to be laid, able to make it outside - but I knew if it was able to make it - it would need water - so I moved the whole lot to the nearest water so that if there was any chance at all - it would have it.

Does anyone know what this is called? It looks like a raspberry before it opens out.

I've seen bullrushes with their cylindrical brown seed heads as well as those which have already exploded, but never before one which is in the process of exploding. Taken at Mill Lake in Abbotsford. BC (09-02-11-4485)

So, apparently, when you go to "blend" up some tomatoes for tomato soup - it helps to hold the blender top down REAL tight - otherwise, you have exploding soup.
