We took the ferry this morning, just after 08am (got up at 6am just to be on the safe side) and spent the entire crossing doing two things essentially: waiting for the pancake machine to work properly - so we could have breakfast - and talking and listening to the suggestions and advices of Mark, from the Wellington I-site. He was brilliant and mapped out our itinerary for the south island, making sure we can get as much out as possible within the timeframe we have. We booked a wine tour through him, and as soon as we arrived in Picton, we parked at Tom's place, will explain later, and left to taste the wines of the Marlborough region, which are quite famous. We tasted very good pinot gris and sauvignon blanc, the good news is that most producers export in Switzerland...we had a good afternoon all in all, then went back to the campsite and went for a stroll in picton, a really lovely town. Tom was waiting for us when we got back....as you will see in the pix, tom is a cat, probably the campsite's owner's. He decided to follow us to the camper and settled down on our seats....so we had a guest for dinner, who, despite the fact that he wasn't fed, was extremely well behaved. We also added a picture of us lighting the second candle marking the advent.
