CAMP O’DONNELL, Philippines – Philippine Marine Sgt. Bimbo R. Busico explains the benefits of plants found in the Philippine jungle during basic jungle survival training April 8 at Camp O’Donnell, Philippines. The survival training is part of Balikatan 2013, an annual bilateral exercise in its 29th iteration, which provides a venue for Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. military forces to develop and continue to enhance interoperability across a wide range of military actions. “Many plants can be used for food and medicine,” said Busico. “Knowing how to tell the difference between edible plants and poisonous plants could mean all the difference in your survival.” Busico is an instructor with Force Reconnaissance Battalion, AFP. Canada explained by Tom Brokaw

Never be ashamed to say that you're Canadian is my advice to everyone. Canada is a federal state governed as a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy, with Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state. The country is officially bilingual at the federal level.

Conspiracies proven or not, the conversation was very deep

The guide, explaining the stories behind the carvings.

@ The Royal International Air Tattoo, RAF Fairford, 12th July 2014

Alright this is going to take some explaining. Firstly the tire and motor in the picture is the Ladder that I am assigned to at work. The red bag, basin\jug, and tubing is a suction unit off of our ambulance. It is used to clear peoples airways if they aspirate fluid into their throats. It sucks literally. Secondly the department I work with is not the most aggressive department when it comes to maintenance. So that is what makes this story even more amazing, for lack of a better term.

Now every Wednesday is Truck Check day. That means the driver of the piece of apparatus has to go through everything on the truck. They have to check the air packs, all of the tools, all the monitors we carry, tire pressure, and all the fluids of the truck. Well to check the fluids on our Ladder you have to set up the ladder. That requires a little bit of work. You have to put the outriggers out, they support the truck so it can't fall over. Then you have to raise the ladder itself. Lastly you have to unlock and raise the cab, before raising it though you have to secure all the stuff inside the cab. Once up you can access all the fluids and fill them if need be. You can't fill the oil on the ladder without doing all of what was just typed. So here is the amazing part, it was a GALLON over filled. Like I said the guys aren't that determined to do up keep, so someone purposefully added a GALLON of to much oil. So when our driver found that out he told our officer who in turn called his officer who called is officer, who is the chief. The chief calls us and tells us to put the ladder out of service and take the oil out. Well my officer said to pull the drain plug. That is all fine and dandy if you plan on draining all of the oil, we just needed to take a gallon. The pressure from the flowing oil would make it kind of hard to put back, so we kept thinking. Our medic decided to use IV stuff to drain it 10cc's at a time. 30cc's is an ounce and there are 128 ounces in a gallon. So he would have had to use his syringe 384 times to get the gallon out. That would have taken FOREVER. We do have 24 hours to kill when we are at work but we can come up with some better ways. Then I remembered we had a TON of the basins for the suction unit. The unit is set up to suck fluids into the basin but not into the machine. So you could suck any fluid up and not mess up the machine. We tested this theory out quite well in my opinion. We stuck the tubing from the suction unit into the fill opening in the motor and within five minutes we had drained the gallon. Fun times I tell you. I was cracking up the who time.

Praba explains Navratri to Anne

yes yes...I can say the obsession/ dramatic need of writing most of my life has been my only way other than creating art of expressing myself, my feelings, emotions, thoughts etc, and in doing this, it not only leads to sometimes a clearer picture, or a re-evaluation, or a vision of awareness within myself but often leads to a sense of lonliness, an outward non social dis-connection, left to feel somewhat vunerable to the outer world, though stronge and intouch with my own desires, pain, fear, neglect, compassion, love, etc ect, ahhh, its a bit hard to explain but its like a voice, YES A VOICE...and that voice wants to shout out so many things to be heard, to have and feel the freedom of being oneself, but this can lead to confusion within ones mind, left alone to ponder, to wonder, to be in ones own world, sometimes as much a s we try

and work it out, it never ends, its life, its reflecting, its learning its feeling and recognizing the signs that may seem vivid, straightfoward, stonge, or even hazy, puzzled, right or wrong- the power that runs off the pages, runs from ones mind into a total chaos, but theres also a sense of peace- individuality, self recognition which leads to picking up the pieces, re-aranging them, reflecting on them, growing and balancing a control mechanism, surrounding ourselves with something that calms us through life- the mind like words can be so powerful, sometimes the need to forget, shut them out, eraze, close, seems like the easiest option, lifes like a book, may be just ink on a page, but their stories, that sometimes inprint in ones mind, have an impact-

skin deep....

Coast Guard Reservist Lt. Ash Thorne and Senior Chief Rodney Wurgler speak with the City Manager of New Madrid, Mo. while inspecting the town's levee system after an errant barge collided with it May 1. The two reservists are members of one of two Disaster Area Response Teams (DART) that patrolled the levee separating the small town from the rain-swollen Mississippi, looking for possible damage caused by the barge collision. The Coast guard has deployed two DART teams to the region from St. Louis-based Sector Upper Mississippi River. The teams are assisting in flood response in rain-soaked communities throughout Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky. Continuous storm systems throughout the Midwest have overwhelmed the region's waterways and levees and caused massive flooding.

Shang dynasty and the beginning of the Zhou dynasty, dating to about 3200-2800 BP.At hte end of this period, the ancient city of Sanxingdui was suddenly abandoned due to causes still unknown. The sanxingdui civilization ceased its existence, and the ancient state seemed to have suddenly Sanxingdui's demise to a catastrophic flood, this would not explain the fate of its large population. In early 2001,an important discovery at the jinsha site in Chengdu provided a preliminary clue to this puzzle:the political and cultural center of the ancient Shu state may have moved southward to Chengdu. The ancient settlements in Chengdu, with jinsha as its type site, were obviously related to the Sanxingdui site, showing that ancient Shu civilization had entered a new stage of development.

This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets
