Ok, strange picture right? Let me explain. I am in desperate need of a theme week so I am thinking I am going to go with secrets/quirk this week. These things are not going to be big news events, just little things that are light hearted. I am not sure how I will do this, but I will make it up as I go along. Todays secret, I cry when I pluck my nose hair. Stupid secret right? but I am a man, I am not supposed to admit this stuff, but hell yeah those little hairs make me cry like a baby. The tears in this shot are from plucking one hair... ONE. It doesn't hurt, it just sets something off :) So I am hopeing that this sets the bar for my week of secrets. I am sure people who know me know most of these secrets, but it is still amusing so I am hopeing that this week will be amusing at my own expense :)
Casablanca, Hasan II Mosque, a place of many superlatives. Seeing the size of this place, I consider myself fortunate to have so very little company ion the middle of a December day.
The genus name is derived from the Greek words ὑμήν (hymen), meaning "membrane", and καλός (kalos), meaning "beautiful". It refers to the curious shape of the flowers, which consist of six narrow, curved petals attached to a shallow cup that is formed from the fused stamens. The effect is of a spidery daffodil or lily, thus explaining the common name "spider lily".
A couple of weeks ago, I got the last lot of Merseyside PTE tickets that adambrown400 had for sale on eBay. I wasn't going to buy these in the first place, but, seeing as no-one else was, I thought I may as well have them and very interesting they were too. Among this little lot were two second class child Interchange tickets.
Mersey Interchange services were six experimental "bus to rail" services in the Liverpool area, using specially marked buses and one of these was service A1. Anyway, it's all explained here on page 27 of the North/South Divisions timetable, dated 6 May 1974.

Initially the work was intended to enlarge the premises of the famous Hunters' Club, mandatory meeting of politicians and intellectuals. For this period in which it was used as a gambling house, it was nicknamed 'Palace of Tears' because of the crying of gamblers who lost money in the club.
In 2002 it was inaugurated as the Cultural Center CEEE Erico Verissimo, a site aimed especially at the local culture-related literature."
