Right, some more experiments in B&W with the Cyber trio. I am completely undecided on which is best, all have their merits.

I've been experimenting with a wide screen look lately. I found this blog post by Scott Kelby: “Cinematic Style Cropping in Photoshop for a Wide Screen Look" if you are interested! I really like how it worked on this Colorado Fence! I guess I didn't leave behind the snow when I left Chicago! In fact, today there is a winter storm warning in effect for the nearby mountains in San Diego. So ... no sunny, warm beaches for Trina this weekend! But me & Rach will still have a blast playing tourists this weekend! Weather NEVER stops us!
She gets off the ship in an hour so I am heading out the door to pick her up. I will do some Flickring tonight for sure, guaranteed ... good thing there is free WIFI in our hotel room!!
Happy Fence Friday & Have a Wonderful Weekend My Wonderful Flickr Friends!!
This was taken along HWY 160 heading west towards Cortez, Colorado. My gas light came on about 10 miles out *gasp* -- not a good thing since there was only about two cars that passed me on that lonely stretch of road!
Usually cats don't feed flower, but in this time it seems to be. I also used a special cross-processing effect that I never used before (also this an experiment) ;).
Enjoy!

My first experiment with HDR. I like the look, but I might have over-done it in post processing. What do you think?
A still life experiment with my Fuji X-T2. I lit the scene with a single LED lamp to the right of the vase. The light was flagged from the room behind the vase with the intention of it rendering as pure black. Some of the light bounced off of a nearby wooden door camera-left and nicely filled the left side of the vase.

Have a great day my friends!
I've told several of my flickr friends that brightly colored thumbnails get more activity than those that are not (which is why I cranked the saturation on the left image to an obscene level). Above are 3 images of Marquam Interchange the one on the left made Explore #25. Neither of the other 2 made explore. Personally I think the one on the left seriously sucks when compared to the other 2. Which is in large part why I think "explore" as any measure of image quailty is bullshit. I'd much rather get decent feedback and criticism from my contacts (who I have a lot of repect for) than some anonymous people in the flickrsphere.
Thanks for playing along. :o)
I have been playing around and learned something new on Photoshop Elements (SHOCKING) - picture taken at Busch Gardens.

I'm starting to like the kid.
He's like the son I never had.
We came across the medical quarters.
I feel ashamed of myself.
We did horrible things to them.
I tried to keep the kid away.
He saw the gore and ran away.
I better catch up to him.
CALLA EXPERIMENT
This was a very pretty watercolor, until I got my 'freak on' and morphed into my ''EXPERIMENTAL MODE''....I simply went wild with that ELEGANT WRITER PEN and a little Pastel too, on top of my watercolor. And if you think Watercolor brings lots of fun surprises...you should try the Elegant Writer Pen...:) ♥
I thought I would put this little tutorial about the Elegant Writer Pen up again...:)
ELEGANT WRITER...made by...www.speedballart.com
I use mostly size 1.3mm Extra Fine
I bought mine at my local Hobby Lobby arts & crafts store, near the Calligraphy section.
They are available online at various art sources also.
The cost is around three dollars.
There are several ways to use these pens in sketching/painting.
I usually draw first in pencil, then very lightly go over the pencil line with the pen, skipping some of them, not to overdo the ink.
I then barely touch the edge of the ink line with a wet(with water) brush which results in an explosion of the ink line.
You can also thoroughly wet the ink for another effect.
Once the ink has been wet with water and dried it will not ''explode'' again.
Once it dries you can add more ink if needed...and repeat procedures.
You can add watercolor after the ink has dried, or even before...but be careful doing this as ''mud'' comes easily...:)
You'll want to experiment and play with it before using it on a ''serious'' sketch or painting...:)
I have a ''set'' on my page here for all my Elegant Writer sketches & paintings.
