Experimenting with the different lenses/flashes/films... please excuse the unimaginative subjects - I was sat in a stationary car...
09/02/2011: Experimenting with exposures in Roslindale. It's very fortunate that modern film is tolerant of a wide range of over- and under-exposures.
FOV: 5" wide.
Salt, sulfur and zinc chloride solution containing trace amounts of copper chloride were combined with a small amount of aluminum foil bits. The sample was then well heated on a steel plate with a MAPP torch.

18 Watt Triple Output UV lamp from Polman Minerals - Way Too Cool UV lamps
Flash both left and right, with snoods attached, the right flash is low down, with a deep red gel on. This gives the colour on the side of the mouse, but is low enough to not light the top of the mouse, which is still white. (The wall is actually yellow)
Moody Experiment.
Some photos from a place you might already recognize, as there're many photos of it here. This time I tried to make something different out of the familiar views. After all, this is a landscape that probably is not scenic this time of the year. At least not for me, not in the usual sense. But of course there's a certain mood -- which might be something that comes out of myself, but I'm sure not without some stimulus, outside, it is really there, somehow. Can it be pictured? Can it be conveyed? How can you depict the actual first impression?
On a technical note: All done with old 50mm f/1.7 lens, all wide open, I used a Kenko nostaltone blue for diffusion and color shift. „Enhanced" in LR & PS.

These set of photographs were taken at college as an experiment of artist research. I was in a group with Sam and April and the pictures turned out amazingly!
Another busy day!!!
Our Science Surfers experiments are always astonishing
and kids were indeed surprised with density tower they made today.
They also enjoyed collaging the UAE national flag craft.
Basketball during their outdoor play was awesome.
Kids enjoyed circle time reviewing numbers and Phonics.
They acted as mail carriers delivering White Fields mails during pretend play.
They were very surprised to see how Pepsi drink exploded after adding baking soda during the science experiment.
It was a great day for us at White fields Nursery.
The bit to the left is "normal" size: 1.25 inch nominal diameter. To the right, a miniature bit, based on 1" couplings. As this has a smaller cross section, it breaks less soil, requires less energy and hence should penetrate faster. We hoped to obtain a 40 % saving. Until now, however, we were not successful. The material is too hard and people prefer to pound away with extra heavy gear.
