Day 47’s lower part of diptych – duotoned

Today I experimented with putting an iPad behind the bubble solution to color the background of the bubble. You can see I still used my flash with a diffuser attached creating the large white hotspot in the bubble. The background was displaying the photo booth app with the thermal camera selected. I'll post the background image on my Instagram story. I still haven't gotten the "perfect" bubble shot so I am going to keep working.

This is for the new theme in Macro Mondays, pastel colors. This is a macro of the corner of a brilliant logo on a t-shirt -- I picked it because the colors were so vivid. Only changes here in Lightroom were use of Adobe Vivid Color, minimal sharpening, and noise reduction.

Day 21

FA43 Ltd on tubes.

I'm trying out my new macro 105 mm f2.8 lens but the light conditions were awful and I have so much to learn about this. Most of my stuff went in the bucket but these were the best

Ein weiteres Experiment mit Glas und Licht.

This was shot using a Hot Mirror filter over my Canon Rebel T5 converted to 590 nm. The hot mirror blocks uv and IR light and passes visible light. Theoretically with this combination only light in the wave lengths from 590 nm to about 720 nm reached the sensor. This is mostly visible red light and some visible yellow light. To preserve the color balance, the RAW image was converted to TIF using Canon Digital Photo Professional. The files convert nicely to black and white with good contrast and giving a dark sky tone. This is how the image appeared on the camera’s lcd screen.

Ringrazio Ignazio M. per aver partecipato! ahahha

This is a photo taken during a video I saw in 2018 at MOMA showing the work of Bogdan Bogdanovic (1922–2010), a Yugoslav architect who made very sculptural monuments to the war dead. This one is called the "Stone Flower" and is found in Croatia.

When I took the photo during the film which was in b&w, the composite colors came through and I found this transformation interesting.

An experiment - long exposure tracking a moving target.

This photo was a bit of an experiment, but I like the result aesthetically, with the contrast of the railings. It's close to SooC other than straightening.

The experiment is that this was shot using the 50mm F/2 lens from my vintage Yashica film camera, but mounted on my Sony body. I really would like to get a 50mm prime for my Sony, but full frame lens prices being what they are, I though this would be a fun thing to try whilst I saved my pennies.

I have to say, other than my not quite nailing focus in some of the shots, I am quite pleased with the results from this combo. Where I have nailed focus there is lots of detail, and it has a nice strong contrast in shots like this one.

Monochrome Experiments explores the timeless allure of black and white. A visual exploration where shadows and highlights intertwine, revealing a nuanced world of contrasts.

Simple experiments while I'm inbetween projects!
