The Proton Pagoda at Fermilab. Stacked from 101 20 second images
Opened in 1976, The proton Pagoda housed a control room for overseeing experiments in the Proton area.
The double helix staircase in the center of the structure was inspired by the structure of DNA.
LOTS more on the history of the Pagoda and the Proton Area on the Fermilab site.
Today I experimented a combination of things... This little bird was the result.
I used watercolors, white acrylic ink and carbon ink in a mixture of "styles"

A new way to build muscle ️ or a very cool flex. The Cardinal Muscle experiment arrived with Cygnus to study how engineered muscle tissue forms in space and help us better understand age-related muscle loss known as sarcopenia. #DYK between ages 20-80 we all lose around 30% of our muscle mass? Astronauts experience a similar but accelerated process in space, which is why you see us hitting the gym for two hours a day up here. It's also why the International Space Station is a good place to test new drugs that could help slow down this process 💪💪

............with a homemade windmill and a fan for today's We're Here group challenge. Today we are visiting the Motion Photos group.
The windmill was made for We're Here a while back, pleased to see that it worked.

Treinreis met de NS Intercity Direct naar Rotterdam. Tunnelvisie.
Was trying to do a very specific idea that i realized quickly wasn't going to work. This was one of the first test shots for exposure and whatnot
Again it was for experimental nothing much. But if I want to reshoot this image It would tell a story, to begin with, and change it from portrait to landscape. And I only liked the sunrise.
A few drawings pieced together in photoshop and then colored - not to sure on the results I'm going to have to keep playing, but I'm over this one.
Experimenting with the technique long exposure but also looking at the formations of the coast from exposure to the elements over time.
MacGyver methods in space: successfully used shaving cream and a saw to cut a stuck launch bolt off the great EML experiment

Quick experiment with backdrops made from patterned paper glued to foam core boards. I have some little plastic bits I need to set up to keep the walls together, but I did this quick shot of a figure in the "room" to see how it would look.
Also need to figure out a better floor.
The walls at the new Veterans Memorial park are topped with this twisting metallic structure. It definitely evokes the notion of concertina wire. I took some photos of it and although the clear blue sky behind them was pretty I didn't like the results very well. So I played with the photo a bit and after converting to B&W I went with a red color tone. I felt it suits the subject.
Have a great Saturday everyone! I'll be around to visit your stream soon :-)
