As expectativas foram alcançadas. No primeiro dia da Semana Cult, a palestra de abertura do Deputado Federal Márcio França lotou o ginásio da Unibr. A Orquestra do 2º Batalhão e o Coral formado por professores da Faculdade também foram muito aplaudidos.
Com o tema Ética e Responsabilidade Social, o Delegado Federal Protógenes Queiroz, que comandou a Operação Satiagraha, também foi muito prestigiado pelos universitários e comunidade vicentina.
No pátio e nas classes, com mais palestras, oficinas, mini-cursos, exposições, teatro, festivais gastronômicos também chamaram a atenção do público.
A Semana Cult será encerrada hoje e o objetivo já foi conquistado: criação de um espaço interativo de produção acadêmica, que leva cultura e entretenimento aos alunos e a população da região.
Hoje ainda acontecem as palestras com o Secretário de Meio Ambiente de Santos, Fabio Alexandre Nunes, o Fabião, a vereadora Telma de Souza. A banda Carlos Bronson fará o encerramento.
A expectativa do acampamento é reunir cerca de mil representantes indígenas de todos os estados até a sexta, dia 13/5. O evento faz parte da Mobilização Nacional Indígena, é organizado pela Articulação dos Povos Indígenas do Brasil (Apib) e apoiado por organizações indigenistas parceiras.
“O objetivo do acampamento é continuar afirmando nossos direitos garantidos na Constituição Federal. E nos manifestar contra os ataques, os retrocessos e todas as ameaças que tramitam principalmente no Congresso Nacional e afetam diretamente os direitos dos povos indígenas”, diz Sônia Guajajara, da coordenação da Apib.

O Festival de Verão mais concorrido do interior maranhense chega à reta final, criando enorme expectativa de público para a grande concentração, do último dia do evento, 31 de julho. Cinco finais de semana de muita alegria, nas areias do rio Grajaú, incluindo o encerramento, que fecha a programação neste domingo, elegendo o evento entre os participantes como o melhor e mais organizado em todo o estado; o Galo Duro, em seus 22 anos de realização, registra nível zero de incidentes, sendo este um dos principais atrativos para as famílias que vêm aqui todo ano, em busca de descanso e lazer. All six Disney Fairies mini dolls have been deboxed. Here Periwinkle is posed standing, supported by a mini doll stand (not included with the doll). As to be expected, her hair is very stiff from the hair product used to style the hair and keep it in place. There seems to be a defect in the painting of her right eye (to the left in the photos), as it doesn't match the left eye. The outline of the lower boundary of the iris missing on the right eye, but it doesn't bother me too much, as it isn't too noticeable unless you look very closely at the doll's face. The glitter from her outfit and wings tended to stick on her rubbery legs, as they did on all the dolls, even before they were removed from the box.

Six 5.5'' poseable mini dolls of the main characters from the Secret of the Wings, the latest Disney Fairies movie. Their names and primary colors are Rosetta (red), Iridessa (yellow), Tinker Bell (green), Periwinkle (light blue), Fawn (orange) and Silver Mist (blue). They have glittery wings attached to their glittery winter outfits. They have boots or shoes over their angled feet. They can move their heads, arms and legs. Their rubbery legs can bend a limited amount at the knees. The color of their legs is permanent, representing the color of their leggings for all of them except for Periwinkle.

Emmanuel Johnson, from Brooklyn, NY expected the Republican presidential candidates to ignore the topic of racial tension in the U.S. However, he is surprised that Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton hasn't addressed the situation more.
"Well, I am not surprised that the candidates are not touching on Black Lives Matter, because they have never touched on something like that before. You know in following the primaries, and particularly the Republican primaries, made it very clear of what they think of minorities including blacks. I am actually surprised that it hasn't come up more often on the Democratic side. I think Trump doing so well is a reflection of the broader sense of white America to people of color, and he's just voicing it. If you asked me six months ago about Trump, I would have said he's a cartoon character. But you ask me that today, and he's clearly a serious candidate so it shows how far we haven't gotten in terms of race relations here. Hilary is an interesting one, to me she comes off as a wolf in sheep's clothing. While you would like her as a woman, which makes her a minority, to speak out more against injustices like Black Lives Matter, she doesn't go that way too often. I would have liked her to say more and stand up more, but she hasnt. Her voting history on different things has shown that she hasn't had much care when it comes to people of color. I am pleasantly surprised on how Bernie Sanders is at least has made some attempts to tackle some of these issues. Today I was so excited to finally get the chance to visit the Hill Gardens. and i just wanted to photograph two of my dresses there. The idea was to create a narrative based around two Victorian sisters playing with their imagination within the secret garden.
Having never been to the "Wild" West Hollywood Halloween Parade before I was unsure of exactly what to expect. I knew about the outrageous Halloween Costumes, and the wild parties from the news media though. I also knew there would be lots of cross dressers.
A meetup group was supposed to meet at a nearby parking structure but it got cancelled at the last minute and naturally I chose to go it alone rather than turn back. What's that we used to say - "Though I be the Lone Survivor..." hmmm, amazing how that Creed still comes in handy 30 some years later...
Parking was challenging but I found a reasonably priced lot about a mile away and grabbed my gear and walked down to the parade route.
I staked myself out under a streetlamp in the middle of Santa Monica Blvd, and tried to get as many of the unique and good costumes as I could. One of the inside jokes is to let the newbies keep asking "What time does the parade start?" All night long. Eventually they figure it out.
These pictures were shot with a brand new Canon 7D with a ringflash. Unfortunately the ringflash blocks the focusing light from the flash unit so there were some challenges focusing in the poor light. With every breakthrough comes new obstacles. Such is life.
The Canon 7D preformed reasonably well under the circumstances. It sure as heck ain't no 1D or 5D, but it is an 18 Megapixel, APS-C 1.6x Crop sensor size, and very practical. It has a bunch of features that the 5Dii doesn't have, although the 5Dii has a much higher quality sensor, which is also slightly larger (21 Megapixel), as well as being full frame. The 7D is also noisier than the 1D or 5d at anything higher than ISO 400, but was useable under the circumstances. It also does video, but I didn't try to use it that night. I've obviously been spoiled by my 1D.
