Something I never expected to see š®.... An LHD Mercedes-Benz Axor (maybe an Axor 1824) convert into some fansy-shmansy camper truck, touring bus-like from UK , spotted in Medina, Saudi Arabia.
Update: Someone in Facebook informed me that this truck belong to an adventure tours & epic overland expeditions company called (Madventure) based in the UK.
I expected the building to look taller outside before I ever saw it. Once you get inside, you see it's plenty tall.

Esas fueron las palabras de Alcides Muse, indĆgena de la comunidad nassa del Cauca, quien participĆ³ en el primer Puesto de Mando Unificado (PMU) por la Vida del Gobierno del presidente Gustavo Petro.
En este PMU, que contĆ³ con la participaciĆ³n y el compromiso de la ministra de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible, Susana Muhamad, el Gobierno Nacional escuchĆ³ a diferentes comunidades indĆgenas, afrodescendientes y campesinas del Cauca, escenario en el que le presentĆ³ al paĆs el plan de emergencia para la protecciĆ³n de los lĆderes y defensores ambientales.
āVeinte lĆderes sociales ambientales del Magdalena Medio fueron amenazados por oponerse al fracking, 17 funcionarios de Parques Nacionales Naturales fueron asesinados durante la Ćŗltima dĆ©cada. Por eso, como ministra de Ambiente hago presencia en este PMU. Vamos a aportar de formas concretas: mapeando los conflictos socioambientales en todo el paĆs, trabajando para ampliar la democracia ambiental, como tambiĆ©n alertando situaciones especiales de colectivos que defienden el ambienteā, afirmĆ³ la jefe de la cartera ambiental.
Asimismo, la ministra Muhamad resaltĆ³ el compromiso del Gobierno para la pronta ratificaciĆ³n del Acuerdo de EscazĆŗ: āQueremos que los actores ambientales tengan un canal para ejercer la democracia ambiental que, ademĆ”s, se debe profundizar con la ratificaciĆ³n del Acuerdo de EscazĆŗ en el Congreso. Lo que estamos haciendo hoy aquĆ, aporta a ese avance del acuerdo, aunque no haya sido aprobadoā.
El plan de emergencia cuenta con siete ejes y priorizarĆ” sus acciones en 65 municipios y seis capitales: Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali, MedellĆn, PopayĆ”n y Santa Marta.
La estrategia, que se ajustarĆ” a las distintas realidades territoriales, dinĆ”micas de la violencia, fuentes de riesgo, conflictos socioambientales, entre otros factores, trabajarĆ” en la presencia territorial del Estado y el acompaƱamiento de la comunidad internacional, en la acciĆ³n preventiva y estratĆ©gica de la fuerza pĆŗblica en terreno y en medidas de justicia y contra la impunidad.

Our poor kitteh had to have emergency surgery earlier this week for a broken pelvic bone! He has to live in our walk-in closet for the next 8-10 weeks while he heals and has required around the clock care for the last few days. We don't know how he was injured, but the surgeon thinks he was either hit by a car or fell from a great height, but since he didn't have any other injuries, he may have been kicked by someone. :(
It's been a rough few days emotionally, but he's doing really well and he's expected to recover completely! He was our only indoor/outdoor kitty and he will definitely be indoor only like the rest of them from now on.
On a positive note, his shaved leg is so soft and fuzzy, like a peach! Makes me want hairless kitties even more!
This is Lindsay and Josh and at the time the photo was taken they were expecting thier daughter... which has now been born she was 3 weeks early!
As half expected, the 31st December arrived mild, slightly misty and damp; not promising for a dramatic end of year/end of project shot. So a short trip to one of my favourite areas for photography, Whitstable, was in order as there has to be something there whatever the weather. Forgot to check tides (it was going out and near low water when I got there) and I couldn't see where water and sky met, but I did have the Lensbaby with me.
So, that's it. The 365/2010 project is complete. Many thanks to all the others in the group for their support, comments etc. throughout the year, particularly to one member who would chirp up most days with "Have you done your photograph for today yet?". You do need support and an occasional kick to get through this type of thing.
Xmas in PAE alangasi! I cooked 35 kilos of rice, quinua, chicken, hearts, heads, chicken feet and beef rib to feed the stray dogs for christmas, they were all very happy to taste some homemade food :D

Motorists can expect a less congested EDSA soon with the recent completion of Skyway Stage 3, as reported by Business Mirror. The infrastructure was finished ahead of its schedule, October 31. ConcluyĆ³ con mucha expectativa, en la ciudad de Manta, el quinto taller realizado por la ComisiĆ³n de EducaciĆ³n, Ciencia y TecnologĆa de la Asamblea Nacional, sobre la evaluaciĆ³n de la aplicaciĆ³n de la Ley de EducaciĆ³n Intercultural para la zona 4 del paĆs que comprende las provincias de ManabĆ y Santo Domingo de los TsĆ”chilas.
Considerando que la Ley de EducaciĆ³n Intercultural estĆ” en vigencia desde hace 3 aƱos, la Asamblea Nacional creyĆ³ pertinente evaluar los procesos y mecanismos que se han creado e implementado para operativizar lo planteado en dicha ley en relaciĆ³n a garantizar el derecho a la educaciĆ³n, plasmar los principios y fines generales que orientan la educaciĆ³n en el marco del buen vivir; la interculturalidad y la plurinacionalidad en relaciĆ³n a desarrollar y profundizar los derechos y obligaciones y garantĆas constitucionales en el Ć”mbito educativo; y, lo relativo a establecer las regulaciones bĆ”sicas para el funcionamiento del sistema nacional de educaciĆ³n.
Este taller que se realizĆ³ en el Auditorio de la FEUE, de la Universidad Eloy Alfaro de Manta, se lo dividiĆ³ en cuatro grupos de trabajo y sesiones en doble jornada, para evaluar el modelo de gestiĆ³n y pedagĆ³gico, sistema de inversiĆ³n y asignaciĆ³n de recursos implementados por el Ministerio de EducaciĆ³n, asĆ como enfoque de interculturalidad y de corresponsabilidad en los tĆ©rminos establecidos en la LOEI.
Tres de los cuatro grupos estuvieron conformados por directores distritales, directores zonales, rectores de colegios, maestros, lĆderes comunitarios y estudiantes, es decir, todos los actores que conforman el sistema de educaciĆ³n y el otro lo conformaron los representantes de las organizaciones de la sociedad civil, entre ellos padres de familia.
Para Ximena Ponce, presidenta del organismo legislativo, reconocer la diferencia es fundamental, para construir una sociedad con voces diversas.
Estas consultas a los ciudadanos en territorio que se iniciaron aproximadamente hace tres semanas, Quito, Ibarra, Guayaquil, Machala y Manta, cuentan con el apoyo de la OrganizaciĆ³n de Estados Iberoamericanos, VisiĆ³n Mundial, Consejo Nacional de la NiƱez y Adolescencia, UNICEF. ConcluirĆ”n en junio con la realizaciĆ³n de tres talleres nacionales en donde se recogerĆan los resultados y testimonios sobre los avances en la ley.

Some actors a life of riches and fame came after hundreds of auditions and rejections, there are others who made things a little easier for themselves by going to acting school where they met all sorts of contacts who could put them in the capable hands of someone in the business and get them somewhere.
I had no idea what to expect at Bunco but these ladies know how to party! There was an abundance of good food for lunch, and oh you can imagine all the desserts! Also the amount of raffle items that they gave away was just mind blowing, especially knowing that most of them were hand painted by the members. All just beautiful. I have to say I never did have the luck of winning one of these amazing raffle items but EVEN BETTER a wonderful member gave me this adorable tray painted by PH that she won because she wanted to make sure I went home with something. I couldn't have asked for anything better...smiles!
