You shouldn't expect many other uploads from this point tip mid November as I am trying to save as much content as I can for a fresh reaction.

Nearly a month has passed since I took off from Chicago for the Pacific Northwest. The getaway was life changing; everything from my relationship with my camera, to some mental relaxation, to nearly killing myself in a car accident.

I returned very humbled, very inspired, and very ready to get back to work. Unfortunately work has been unbearably busy to the point where I have had one day off since I landed back at ORD.

Enjoy this one last upload and it'll be back to radio silence. MRL morn' gas eastbound on the 10th Sub.

Faithful Jews are expected to prayer three times a day, morning, afternoon and night.

The man praying from the Torah on the right is wearing a Tefillin. These little black boxes contain selections from the Torah.

“Tefillin are two small black boxes with black straps attached to them; Jewish men are required to place one box on their head and tie the other one on their arm each weekday morning. Tefillin are biblical in origin, and are commanded within the context of several laws outlining a Jew's relationship to God. 'And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. Take to heart these instructions with which I charge you this day. Impress them upon your children. Recite them when you stay at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them serve as a frontlet between your eyes' (Deuteronomy 6:5-8).www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/tefillin

Climbing this sunny hill is healthy exercise after a long, dull, wet and windy winter.

KCSM 4544 pulls a short MALNP out of South St Paul for a run down the Albert Lea Sub. I finished chasing CP 7022 and was about to head home but I saw this train stopped in the distance and the leader looked unusual. A short chase occurred after, this is also a spot that's been on my list for a while just never attempted it until now.

Bloody Foreland - Brinlack, Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland

Sometimes I get the feeling that no matter where in Donegal I travel to capture photos….. I’m carefully being watched 👀 Being followed by cows, sheep, goats & birds has become the norm for me. So expected that if I travel to a landscape and there are no animals gazing at me, I feel like there is something wrong or there’s a wolf hiding in the field or something 😂

After this photo was captured, I gave the cows a good auld pat on the nose and a hand full of freshly pulled grass as a thank you 🐮

Hope you enjoy! Please Favourite & Follow to view my newest upcoming works, Thank you

One for the album / set... I don't expect it to be popular but it does show what Mellbreak's summit looks like, so it should be part of the album.. you can see Scotland in the distant background :-)

Mellbreak's northern summit is to the left, I sort of wished I gone across to it, I would have got a view over Loweswater. I guessed it would have been an extra couple of miles walking the wandering around taking photo's and coming back, so I gave it a miss, my knees were already complaining and I still had a reasonable walk back.. as it happened, I got some lovely light on the way back that I would have missed if I had of done that extra bit.. I'll save it for another time and do it from the other end :-)

And then that happened.... :) Soon to be Three!

I've been a fan of _alariko's stuff o Instagram for a while now, and this one really caught my eye. So I thought hey, why not have a go at making it. So I did, and a month (or more, I lost track) later here we are.

I'm actually really proud of it ngl, I feel like I've really achieved something. I used a whole variety of techniques I'd never normally use, and I think it really pays off. Blender was a pain as always, but I learned some new things, so that was nice.

I should also thank the folks from MemeLUG, a discord server I'm in. They helped a lot with various bits, it's always good to have a second, third etc opinion when building something like this.

I'm fully prepared for this to flop, as it's probably not what you'd expect from my account, but it made me happy while I was building it (not rendering it, that was a thankless task) and that's what counts.

He expects me to be at his beck and call now that we're home all the time. I dare not defy him.

You would expect to see another lighthouse from Maine but... i wanted to post another look of Owls head light! I took this photo from the stairs that lead to the lighthouse and i tried to incorporate in the frame the visitors (which bothered me on the previous capture). I hope you like it!

Last week we got called 3rd! Wow! Thank You! I wasn't expecting that at all and its the highest placing we have recieved in this competition so far. I hope that me and Xion can continue to be deliver good enough photos in order to stay in this competition!

So for this weeks theme we had to be 'Gaga 4 Gaga' which ment our models had to model fashions inspired by the legendary queen of pop, Lady GaGa! The insperation for my photo is this one; michaelpeck.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/lady-gaga-david-l.... Hopefully you can see the insperation I used! This theme was quite difficult actually and I spent alot of time doing Xion's hair (it took a lot of hairspray!) and making the newspaper outfit. Hopefully we fit the brief and hopefully we will get to stay another week in the competition!

Hope you like it! :)

CALLED: 01/11

As I expected, the October workshop to the Wave filled very quickly. Congrats to everyone that signed up! If you're interested in going on a future trip, make sure you sign up for my newsletter: eepurl.com/1Nya1. I always give newsletter subscribers first dibs on new workshops. Here's a couple fun shots from the Wave that we did a little after sundown. It's a really difficult spot to light at night, as there are so many contours, peaks, and shadows to be concerned with.

Wasn't expecting to see this beast wander past along the branch I was leaning against. I'd only seen them at the Riverside Nature Reserve at Burpham before, where there are numerous willows. A bit of research suggests they do frequent other salix and poplar trees and although there were none in the immediate spot , there were a few within 100 yards or so. A long walk nonetheless! Hopefully it means there will be a sizable community somewhere nearby., it's a handsome and huge aphid!

...my son and daughter in law are expecting my first grandchild in October - so excited!!!!

(large + on black)

I'm deducting the $20 it cost to enter the park from the overall $1,000,000 views. I think that's fair.

I wasn't totally sure what to expect since I've traditionally been a person who explores around home rather than do destination or tourist photography. It had been pleasant but windy most of the morning through New Mexico but now it was much colder (in the 40's), had higher swirling winds and a constantly dramatic sky. At one point, Scotch almost blew off a cliff. Then my camera nearly did the same.

My biggest regret was poor time management, I spent about 90 minutes covering the first 4 miles and about 30 minutes flying through the last 24 miles. I called the info line at about 4:55 when i realized i had another 15 miles to drive to make sure I wouldn't get...locked in. I may have even paid $40 for the fee. Who knows.

October 29, approaching the paradise...

Now, some weeks later, the weather goes wild... incredibly strong wind and not only rain but deluges... yesterday, after a visit in the seaport, I couldn't return to my little bay, because the roads were completely flooded and covered with soil and rocks... so I had to take a hotel room, and here I am... still waiting for the weather to calm down, but I'm fine and finally there is some peace and quiet to upload some photos of the journey and the first days/weeks on the island. :-)

Expect nothing. Live frugally

On surprise.

become a stranger

To need of pity

Or, if compassion be freely

Given out

Take only enough

Stop short of urge to plead

Then purge away the need.

Wish for nothing larger

Than your own small heart

Or greater than a star;

Tame wild disappointment

With caress unmoved and cold

Make of it a parka

For your soul.

Discover the reason why

So tiny human midget

Exists at all

So scared unwise

But expect nothing. Live frugally

On surprise.

Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Of course it was the horizontal and vertical stripes that caught my eye for this shot, I didn't quite expect such a reaction though. Enjoy!

You can plan to the best of your ability... but sometimes conditions don't live up to expectations. Last week I set out, hoping for a perfect sunrise, only to find the place shrouded in thick fog. After 30-40minutes, I was about to give up... then, there was the briefest of clearings, revealing a backlit Wallace Monument... within 5 minutes it was gone again.

Compare with how this place looked early summer

GATX 396 leads back from switching out cars at the WestRock warehouse in Camillus back during the heatwave a weekend ago. Nice to finally catch something moving on FGLK for once.

This is pretty easy.....the hard part is getting the smoke or halos. You just need to have patience and some strobes :). The smoke turn out here is totally unexpected.
