CLARK FIELD, Philippines - Cpl. William McDougall, a native of Columbia, Ky. and currently assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 4 (CLB-4), Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan demonstrates the use of the M-203 Grenade Launcher to fellow CLB-4 Marines and members of the Philippine Air Force during a weapons familiarization seminar between U.S. Marines and Philippine Airmen during Exercise Balikatan 2011 on April 7 at Clark Field, Philippines.

Balikatan means "shoulder to shoulderÓ in Tagalog and is an annual Republic of the Philippines and United States bilateral military humanitarian assistance and training exercise that is taking place in the Philippines April 5-15. The training helps maintain readiness and sustain the long-term security assistance relationship shared between the two countries. (U.S. Air Force Photo by Master Sgt. Cohen A. Young/Released)

The Woodlands, Texas --

Not to sound too defensive, but please know that this was a completely staged shot. I certainly do not work out as often as I should, but I never use my exercise bike as a wardrobe. However, that being the cliché, I could not resist the portrayal for today’s photo.

Song of the Day

Kiss Is On My List : Voices : Hall & Oates

This is on my playlist of workout songs. It has a great rhythm for bicycling!

A very small exercise yard at the KGB prison in Vilnius. Prisoners were only allowed 'exercise' in this tiny yard for no longer than 1 hour, 2 or 3 times a week, watched closely by the guards on a gantry above. The rest of the time they were locked in their cells .. or tortured.

WOD (thanks to GoCrossfit Nashville): 30/25/20/15/10/5 rep rounds of wall balls and knees to elbows. Wall balls coming along nicely now; think I'm about ready to upgrade from the "kiddie" ball (10 lbs) to the "girlie" ball (14 lbs). This is my first workout doing knees to elbows, and although I had a modification option set up for me I decided to stick with the real deal no matter how long it took. It took a while.

After catching a morning baseball game between the Trenton Thunder and the Reading Phillies, I stopped over to catch some Northeast Corridor action from the adjacent riverwalk. Here, an NJ Transit train heads for the Morrisville Maintenance Center as some employees from the nearby offices get some exercise in.

This lady was doing tai chi in the white park.

This chap, a wharf worker, was actually doing push ups to pass the time, while waiting for the ship to depart, so they could let go of the bow ropes.

As someone mentioned, is the other man practicing yoga?

Queen Mary's Bower Chatsworth.

Tradition holds that Queen Mary’s Bower was constructed in the 1570s when Mary Queen of Scots was held at Chatsworth, in order to provide a raised exercise ground for the captive queen (her presence at Chatsworth is recorded throughout the 1570s). There is no hard evidence to support this tradition, and while it is perfectly possible that the structure was used by the exiled queen there seems little doubt that the Bower was originally built as a garden feature.

The Bower’s original form is uncertain. It was massively restored in the 1820s by Wyatville and the area around the Bower has been changed in many ways since the 16th century. In particular, major alterations in the mid-18th century by Brown and Millican included the removal of the ponds further to the east. This level and featureless area is a testament to the extent of levelling and earth-moving undertaken by Brown and Millican.

While someone is focused on doing yoga, the other one would like to put his head under the pillow, hold his ears with his feathery hand and take a nap. We all are different 😁

The chap in the background should get a bicycle. On the North Downs Way near Reigate Hill. Behind the runner is one of a pair of wooden wing tips representing the exact wingspan of a B17 bomber. In WW2 a USAF B17 returning from a mission over Europe crashed here in bad weather conditions. All nine US airmen were killed, the oldest being just 25, and this is in memoriam to them along with an explanation notice. There is also a touching laminated note from a local 80 year old who witnessed the crash as a 5 year old boy.
