GRAND BARA DESERT, Djibouti (September 27, 2012) – Pararescuemen from the 82nd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron disembark a U.S. Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter during Mass Casualty Exercise 12-1, September 25, 2012, which started in the Grand Bara Desert, Djibouti. The exercise followed a fictitious storyline, but called for the employment of real-world assets. While French and U.S. forces conduct frequent combined training events, this was the first exercise of this type between the two nations in Djibouti. The U.S. forces involved are assigned to Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, or CJTF-HOA. CJTF-HOA works with coalition partners, such as the French, and with countries in East Africa to promote regional security and stability. (U.S. Air Force photo by Technical Sergeant Joseph McKee)

I need a new hobby. I also need a way to keep in touch with the people I love. So here goes: I'm getting warmed up on my 365 journey.

Dear Greatmats
I recently purchased the 1 5/8'' BJJ mats, and I love them. My family has been using the mats for exercise, and I am working on a mounting system for my punching bag. I love the density of the mats, and the installation was very simple. Great purchase!!
Thank you!
Jamie

EXERCISE TRIDENT JAGUAR 2015
In this image: The Targeting Team.
Targeting is the process of selecting and prioritising targets and matching the appropriate response to them, and considering operational requirements and capabilities, in which the targeting team at Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps is responsible for.
The ARRC is being tested on Exercise Trident Jaguar at The Joint Warfare Centre in Stavanger, Norway.
This is so the ARRC can begin the role of a ready, stand-by Joint Task Force HQ for conducting a Crisis Response Small Joint Operation.
The ARRC was the NATO Response Force in 2013, and has built Joint planning and control capabilities upon those foundations in the past 18 months, making the headquarters a key command and control element in the NATO Force Structure.

Before & After
First of all, this photo is a self portrait (armado aos cágados).
It was shot with a Nikon D3200, Tamron 17-50, and one flash unit and yongnuo flash triggers. (The best my money can buy... ahaha).
The photo was edited using a bunch of techniques in Photoshop:
1st - Cleaned the background using curves, dodge and burning tools to make a mask (notice the hair);
2nd - Cleaned the face, using frequency separation (it works like the high pass filter), clone tool and patch tools;
3rd - Brightened the eyes, painting freely around the eyes using light colors and blured them at the end;
4th - Took care of the wrinkles in the clothes, combining the spot healing brush with the patch tool;
5th - Last but not least, used dodge and burning tools and a fill layer with 50% grey.
PHLEARN - Big HUG - if you want to learn too, go and watch the videos on youtube.
Watercolor pencil practice in Moleskine watercolor journal. I used a photo I had taken a couple of summers ago while on a morning walk, this is just down the road from my house. The scan is not true to the colors in real life, but after many adjustments this was a close as I could come. Also, I'm not thrilled with how the wc pencils behave on the Moleskine wc paper. You can tell there's a kind of foggy sheen to the sketch, and the pencils seem to scratch the paper. I like using hot press much better for wc pencils.

The purpose of this exercise was to cross the St. Lawrence River aboard thirty assault inflatable boats to attack a fictional enemy located at the eastern tip of Ile-aux-Courdes. The simulation of fighting resulted in different scenarios ranging from ambushes to confrontation, punctuated by explosions.
