There were a lot of these rather grisly machines that would show you little dolls reading another little doll it's last rites before beheading it or hanging it.
The first one goes off without a hitch. Amazingly he managed to maintain his footing.

A local restaurant that many may pass up upon first glance, Just Cookin' is an absolute diamond in the town of Garner NC when it comes to food. The restaurant is owned and operated by Anthony Syracuse, a native to the area who takes great pride in his accomplishment of owning his own eatery.
Dining review: Just Cookin’ has a pedigree that’s part Northern deli, part Southern diner
The answer is a deceptively modest eatery called Just Cookin’, and it’s not surprising if you’ve never heard of the place. The location, in a strip mall in Garner, is hardly high-profile. But believe me, it’s worth seeking out.
The restaurant’s folksy name sets the right tone for its unpretentious atmosphere, small-town-friendly wait staff and menu, whose pedigree is part Northern deli, part Southern diner.
But it doesn’t do justice to the level of execution in the kitchen. News Source
This Garner, North Carolina intersection has had a fair share of problems since the day it was first constructed, now there are two options to choose from in order to fix the troubling intersection. The only problem being in order to do so, side streets and local family businesses would have to be blocked and closed off by construction crews.
There are 2 options for fixing Garner intersection; one of them has never been tried in NC
Putting U.S. 70 on a bridge over Hammond Road/ Timber Drive instead would allow through-traffic on the main road to move freely without stopping. But Baloch said there's not room to build the approaches to a U.S. 70 bridge without blocking access to side streets and businesses, including the Garner Towne Square shopping center.
NCDOT has determined that it can't leave the intersection as it is. As many as 37,000 cars and trucks a day now pass through the intersection on U.S. 70 alone, and that number is expected to grow to as many as 52,200 by 2040, Baloch said.
NCDOT will present the two options from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at The Capital Church, 1308 U.S. 70 in Garner. Original Source

Aug 2: the calvary started as issues re launch execution started pouring in... worst week of my life so far
The Rieme-Oostakker Place of Execution is the place in the Ghent district of Oostakker where 66 resistance fighters were executed by the Naxi occupation force between February 8, 1943 and August 24, 1944.
This memory is also kept alive the 20 resistance fighters who were killed on the execution site at Rieme . That site was destroyed in 1998 during the construction of the Kluizendok of Ghent Port.
The executions were carried out in secret and the victims were buried anonymously. Some of the resistance fighters killed in Rieme was found in a mass grave in Hechtel.
Moreover, there were German soldiers and Belgian criminals also shot. Because of these circumstances, it is still unclear how many people were killed. After the Liberation the mass grave was uncovered in Oostakker. The victims were identified and buried in their hometowns.
The crosses on the ground thus have a symbolic meaning. Nevertheless, the execution place is a cemetery since in 1952 the remains of 15 decapitated West Flemish political prisoners were moved here from their graves in Munich.
On the grounds is a railway carriage which carried hundreds of Belgians to concentration camps in Germany and Poland. In 1966 the execution place gained the status of a protected landscape.
There was a 2 paged letter/note left upstairs, telling a story about how someone was shot and killed upstairs

The Colosseum or Coliseum (/?k?l?'si??m/ KOL-?-SEE-?m), also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre (Latin: Amphitheatrum Flavium; Italian: Anfiteatro Flavio [a?fite'a?tro 'fla?vjo] or Colosseo [kolos's??o]), is an oval amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy. Built of travertine limestone, tuff (volcanic rock) , and brick-faced concrete, it was the largest amphitheatre ever built at the time and held 50,000 spectators. The Colosseum is situated just east of the Roman Forum. Construction began under the emperor Vespasian in AD 72 and was completed in AD 80 under his successor and heir, Titus. Further modifications were made during the reign of Domitian (81–96). These three emperors are known as the Flavian dynasty, and the amphitheatre was named in Latin for its association with their family name (Flavius).
The Colosseum could hold an estimated 50,000 to 80,000 spectators during phases of its various renovations over the centuries, having an average audience of some 65,000; it was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles such as mock sea battles (for only a short time as the hypogeum was soon filled in with mechanisms to support the other activities), animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Classical mythology. The building ceased to be used for entertainment in the early medieval era. It was later reused for such purposes as housing, workshops, quarters for a religious order, a fortress, a quarry, and a Christian shrine.
Although substantially ruined because of earthquakes, thieves, and stone-robbers, the Colosseum is still an iconic symbol of Imperial Rome and is listed as one of the New7Wonders of the World. It is one of Rome's most popular tourist attractions and also has links to the Roman Catholic Church, as each Good Friday the Pope leads a torchlit "Way of the Cross" procession that starts in the area around the Colosseum.

Arch of Constantine, Rome (05-09-18
The Arch of Constantine (Italian: Arco di Costantino) is a triumphal arch in Rome, situated between the Colosseum and the Palatine Hill. It was erected by the Roman Senate to commemorate Constantine I's victory over Maxentius at the Battle of Milvian Bridge in 312. Dedicated in 315, it is the largest Roman triumphal arch. The arch spans the Via triumphalis, the way taken by the emperors when they entered the city in triumph.
Though dedicated to Constantine, much of the decorative material incorporated earlier work from the time of the emperors Trajan (98–117), Hadrian (117–138) and Marcus Aurelius (161–180), and is thus a collage. The last of the existing triumphal arches in Rome, it is also the only one to make extensive use of spolia, reusing several major reliefs from 2nd century imperial monuments, which give a striking and famous stylistic contrast to the sculpture newly created for the arch. This earned it the derisive nickname of Cornacchia di Esopo Aesop's Crow.
The arch is 21 m high, 25.9 m wide and 7.4 m deep. It has three archways, the central one being 11.5 m high and 6.5 m wide and the lateral archways 7.4 m by 3.4 m each. Above the archways is placed the attic, composed of brickwork revetted (faced) with marble. A staircase within the arch is entered from a door at some height from the ground, on the west side, facing the Palatine Hill. The general design with a main part structured by detached columns and an attic with the main inscription above is modelled after the example of the Arch of Septimius Severus on the Roman Forum.
The art community in Second Life is a varied one. Fine art, outsider art, underground art, performance art and music are all mixed in with the technical aspects of programming and scripting.
Second Life is one of the first places to combine right and left brain thinkers into one fantastic execution of art and builds in a virtual reality.
The sophistication of the artist is apparent at several places on the SL grid. There are many places that rival my favorites, but these are my personal choices based on my reaction or how long it stayed with me.
The Apollo sim will always be my very favorite place, but here are two that just captured my head and heart. La Reve and pteron are included on my "to die for" list and of course, The A List!
Both are fantastic. Both are fabulously done with a flair that most of us who build, will never achieve. I also included a few stand-outs from Esperance, Nebulous's ArtHole installation, and also, the conceptual Muzik Haus.
Muzik Haus is included, not because of the build itself. That part is simple, but the concept itself is one that stays with me. Mr Widget is the dj and his party making mash-ups create a total ambiance that drives the performance itself.
He is my current favorite dj. He is a mash-up king. And he shares his knowledge with us so generously.
All these places and all these people... standing before you and your art, sometimes overwhelms me to a point of tears. The emotional connection I feel when I explore or listen is the reason why I believe that art equals life. For without art... life is a dreary place and that is no life for anyone.
The execution was ordered to be carried out by hanging between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 1782 in Easton, Pa. The minutes of the Supreme Executive Council of Pennsylvania published in the Colonial records of Pennsylvania, shed little light on the affair. The day before the execution, Charles Werkheiser petitioned the council for a stay of execution. The stay was dismissed and the hanging occurred the following day. It is not known whether he was hanged in the circle at Easton near the court house, or on Gallows Hill.

By kind permission of the Royal Parks Department, the King’s Army Annual March and Parade will again follow the route taken by Charles I from St James Palace on the Mall to the place of his untimely death at the Banqueting House in Whitehall, London. This event is an established part of the London calendar and has followed a similar format now for forty years. The parade assembles from 11am outside St James Palace on The Mall and marches to form up on Horse Guards Parade, a considerable privilege for an organisation such as ourselves, from where a wreath is carried across Whitehall and placed at the execution site. A short service follows and awards and commissions are conferred on deserving members of the King’s Army.
