Enjoying a pleasant walk on a beautiful April day, with the cooling towers of the now closed Willington power station in the distance.
On May 15th of 2024, I went on this year's second trip to Åva-Stensjödal, in search of more bugs on the willow flowers, but they turned out to be completely overblossomed by now and there were literally zero bugs that I could find on them.
As I was walking down the gentle slope towards the path next to the Nedre Dammen pond, I noticed quite a lot of smallish wolf spiders running out from in front of me. Typically, those aren't really that interesting to shoot, but since I've shot a beautiful agonum beetle in the same place (www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/53470545480/), I looked a little extra and that's when I realised that some of the spiders in fact weren't spiders - but peacock beetles!
These are tiny (~8 mm / .3") predatory beetles that hunt using speed - sort of like miniature tiger beetles, but unlike those they don't fly away when cornered. Shooting them is still somewhat of an excercise in futility, since they rarely ever stay still for more than a second or two before they're off again.
I've had some success shooting these when I had my son with me as a herder, keeping check on where they run as I try to nail a shot, but this time I was alone so it took quite a lot of time to get some decent shots.
This is a copper peacock beetle (Elaphrus cupreus) and interestingly, the coloured pits on the elytra appear more blue on this one than some I've found earlier where they are purple instead.

I have an album with all the peacock beetle shots I've posted so far here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/albums/72177720309780234

Simple diet plans for women are presently no more about trend or crash diets that starve the body as opposed to feed it. Me and my wife went for a walk down Cows Gap this morning after dropping off the kids to school, mainly for excercise and some photography :)
Cows Gap is a hidden gem of a beach and looks like something off the moon with it's amazing rocky terrain, from little pebbles and massive boulders littering this amazing landscape.
I climbed over the boulders and got close to the waters edge to get this shot, thinking the tide was going out.
The tide was coming in and very fast so as soon as I closed the shutter on this LE I grabbed my camera and quicky scrambled back to safety before I was cut off.
The scary thing was how quickly it almost surrounded me.
This was taken using
►Nikon D300s◄
►Sigma 10-20 @10mm◄
►Hitech Pro Stopper 10 stop filter◄
►Lee 0.9 ND grad◄
►Tripod and cable release◄
This shot was a 184 second exposure which was a little to long and overexposed the horizon due to watching the incoming water instead of my watch.
I was going to convert to mono but it really didn't suit this shot so here it is in all it's glorious colour.
Post Processing
Increased the temperature to get rid of the blueness
Moved the tint to counter balance the extreme colour cast
De-saturated the oranges to combat some sort of IR colouring
Increased the blacks to add to the contrast in the rocks and combat the flatness
Addes an 's' curve and some levels to increase contrast more
Increased saturation
Dodged and burned where needed
Added unsharp mask for detail and clarity
Spot removal for the dust bunnies
I would be interested in what you think with the colour balance as this is about the best I could do myself.
A lot of people are e-mailing me saying they are not really going to buy the Hitech Pro stopper based on my write ups in conjunction with my pictures but I would just like to say it is actually quite a good filter you just have to work a hell of a lot harder in post processing to get better results.
It's a great workaround until I can get hold of the Lee big stopper which definently looks better for clarity so don't totally dismiss the Hitech as it might actually work for you.
I think I was expecting too much from the filter at first and thats why I was so dissapointed.
Thankyou for your much appreciated comments and favs.

How the Lemonade Diet functions
--------------------------------------
In the course of the most recent couple of years the lemonade diet has relentlessly expanded in ubiquity, much all the more so because of a few superstar supports. Be that as it may, what precisely it is safe to say that this is diet and how can it work? The basics are truly very straightforward so I’ll attempt to answer these inquiries and ideally clear up any disarray or confusions.
The lemonade diet, additionally eluded to as the expert purify, was created in 1941 by an advocate for regular living, Stanley Burroughs. Burroughs depicted his detoxification program as a purging and weight reduction diet that takes out destructive poisons, builds vitality, cures ulcers and offers a large group of other stimulating advantages.
