"Dingoes have been on mainland Australia for over 4,000 years. They were introduced by Indonesian seafarers and have since played an important role in the culture of Australia’s First Nations people. Standing up to 60 centimetres (2 feet) tall and weighing between 12 to 24 kilograms (26 to 52 pounds), the dingo is very intelligent and resourceful, therefore adapting to live in a variety of environments. They can be found throughout alpine ranges, coastal terrain and even in the blistering desert.
Dingoes are a unique type of wild canine, considered neither purely dogs nor wolves, but a distinct lineage that diverged thousands of years ago from the ancestors of both; recent evidence suggests they should be classified as their own species, Canis dingo, separate from dogs (Canis familiaris) and wolves (Canis lupus). They arrived in Australia from Southeast Asia, likely as domesticated dogs, but have since evolved into a wild, primitive canid with unique behaviors, genetics, and physical traits, filling Australia's apex predator role."

Les puits à degrés du Rajasthan, en Inde, sont riches d'une histoire qui remonte à plus de mille ans. Construits à l'origine pour recueillir l'eau de pluie et fournir un accès aux eaux souterraines, ils sont devenus des merveilles architecturales et des espaces communautaires.
Construites en creusant dans la terre, ces structures étaient ornées de sculptures complexes, servant à la fois de symboles utilitaires et esthétiques. Built at Saint Sylvestre-sur-Lot in the middle-ages, the Chateau is marked by more than 700 years of history.
Originally a fortified farm, the property has evolved with its successive owners. During the 16th and 17th centuries building work began to construct new main buildings and towers. In the 18th century the windows were completely redesigned in arch style. In the 19th century, the estate passed via marriage to the Dordaygue family who erected a building at the south side. The whole property was restored in 1992 before becoming a luxury hotel. However, in 2008, the company who ran the hotel went into liquidation and the estate fell into a state of neglect.
A new lease of life has been given to the chateau by Philippe Ginestet, local man and owner director of the Gifi group. In 2011 he purchased the estate and, with his friend and architect Jacques Bru, decided to create a unique hotel complex. Several months of work was necessary to get their audacious architectural project up and running and thus give birth to this exceptional place.

Oorspronkelijk een versterkte boerderij, is het pand geëvolueerd met zijn opeenvolgende eigenaren. Tijdens de 16e en 17e eeuw begon men met de bouw van nieuwe hoofdgebouwen en torens. In de 18e eeuw werden de ramen volledig opnieuw ontworpen in boogstijl. In de 19e eeuw ging het landgoed via huwelijk over op de familie Dordaygue die een gebouw aan de zuidkant liet bouwen. Het hele pand werd in 1992 gerestaureerd voordat het een luxe hotel werd. In 2008 ging het bedrijf dat het hotel runde echter in liquidatie en raakte het landgoed in een staat van verwaarlozing.
Het kasteel is nieuw leven ingeblazen door Philippe Ginestet, lokale man en eigenaar-directeur van de Gifi-groep. In 2011 kocht hij het landgoed en besloot samen met zijn vriend en architect Jacques Bru een uniek hotelcomplex te realiseren. Er waren enkele maanden werk nodig om hun gedurfd architecturaal project op de rails te krijgen en zo deze uitzonderlijke plek te laten ontstaan.
