Today I had my annual evaluation at work. Basically it's the process where they break down your goals, your accomplishments, and your personality into smaller and smaller pieces, and then decide which of those little bits benefit the company and which don't. Then you're given a score based on how much of you they can use.
Good Things:
1. Karate. Again. Loads of pushups, and mindless exercise to chase away the stresses of the day.
2. Lauren stayed home today, to get our new (very tiny) TV, and had dinner ready when I got home. It was pretty wonderful.

Soldiers and Airmen assigned to a special response force of the Virginia National Guard participate in various training scenarios May 13, 2015, at the Virginia Beach Fire and EMS Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va., to prepare for an external evaluation scheduled for May 15. The special response force is the Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear High Yield Explosive Response Force Package, known as the CERFP (pronounced “surf-p”), and it conducts tasks associated with incident management, urban search and rescue, mass casualty decontamination, technical decontamination, medical triage and treatment and fatality search and recovery. The force is made up of Soldiers and Airmen from Va. Guard units based in Petersburg, West Point, Rocky Mount and Langley Air Force Base, as well as personnel from the Washington D. C. Air National Guard. The unit conducted training in three phases that included basic refresher training for disaster response, additional instruction and review of the unit’s tasks while donning all protective gear and a final dress rehearsal before the external evaluation. APT and NCPTT partnered to present nondestructive evaluation methods for historic structures. The workshop provided guidance for professionals and students in the use of diagnostic nondestructive testing for historic structures. It was intended for technically oriented graduate and practicing engineers, architects, preservation consultants, and contractors who were not familiar with this subject area.
The National Park Service’s National Center for Preservation Technology and Training protects America’s historic legacy by equipping professionals in the field of preservation with progressive technology-based research and training. Since its founding in 1994, NCPTT has awarded over $7 million in grants for research that fulfills its mission of advancing the use of science and technology in the field of historic preservation. Working in the fields of archeology, architecture, landscape architecture and materials conservation, the Center accomplishes its mission through training, education, research, technology transfer and partnerships.

BAGHDAD – An Iraqi Soldier is evaluated after taking fire on a simulated battlefield at Contingency Operating Location Constitution March 31. Soldiers and Airmen of the Virginia National Guard’s Fort Pickett-based 34th Civil Support Team conduct a Training Proficiency Evaluation May 15 at the Dinwiddie County Airport. The team was was evaluated as fully mission capable by U. S. Army North’s Civil Support Readiness Group-East after demonstrating proficiency in 12 different collective tasks. The CST conducts an external evaluation every 18 months to validate they are able to effectively conduct their mission of providing support to first responders in potential biological, chemical, nuclear, radiological and explosive incidents. The Networking AIDS Community of South Africa (NACOSA) seeks to contribute to reducing the impact of HIV and AIDS and TB through the implementation of a 3-Tier Model, which comprises of the following aspects:
