This is my final image for the 50-layer challenge that was set. I have based this image on an apocalyptic world where there has been a zombie outbreak I have given several clues to this in the image such as the biohazard signs and the signs on buildings such as 'Dead Inside' and 'No Dead Zone.' I created this image on Photoshop, it wasn't too difficult because I was already comfortable with the software however I have learned new skills on Photoshop whilst I was creating this image. If I were to do this again I would do it a lot differently. I wouldn't have the building in, in the background because it's harder to fit edited people into the foreground and make them look as though they belong there. I thought I used a lot of time selected images and editing in small details but I finished on the deadline so not as much time was wasted as I previously thought. Whilst doing this image I enjoyed putting the rust onto the building because I used a soft edge eraser tool to erase the sides and I then changed the blending mode to 'Overlay' so that you could see the background through the rust so it would look like it's actually on the building, you can't really see the building through the thicker patches of rust because this is a darker area. I also enjoyed applying little details onto the character with the flare such as replacing a gun that was previously in his hand with a knife and also putting thicker smoke on the flare so it looked more suited to the image. I did this by using a soft edge eraser tool on the edges and then I used a low opacity eraser and used it over the smoke so you could see some of the background through it so that it looked more realistic. I also applied a little dust at the bottom of his foot so it looked as though he has jumped of the building, I used the same technique doing this as I did with the smoke from the flare. I am pleased with how this project went and I do like my final image and I feel it helped me because it tested my Photoshop skills.
