The scarce second English edition of Euclid's Elements, and the First Edition of Thomas Rudd's English version of Euclid (preceded only by the Billingsley version published in folio in 1570) and contains the celebrated "Mathematical Preface" by John Dee that first appeared in the 1570 Billingsley edition.
Captain Thomas Rudd (1583c.- 1656) was an English military engineer and mathematician.
John Dee (1527-1608) was an English mathematician and considered one of the most educated men of his age, lecturing on the geometry of Euclid at the University of Paris.

Em memória aos cem anos de morte do escritor Euclides da Cunha, em 2009 foi realizada, durante a sétima edição da Flip, a apresentação do espetáculo teatral Cantos de Euclides, baseado na obra Quatro cantos de Euclides, de Thiago Cascabulho e Miguel Carvalho.
Dez anos depois, a 17ª Flip relembra o momento e apresenta uma releitura musical do espetáculo, com a participação das crianças de Paraty e do Maracatu Palmeira Imperial, que interpreta o canto de abertura, com coordenação musical de Débora Saraiva e participação de Thiago Cascabulho.

in real, natural, and unsustainable, gregory euclide creates an environment that is both critically observant and wryly humorous. his characteristic dioramic landscapes sit atop dust devil-like structures that sprout from the floor. these ethereal, bucolic topographies are precariously balanced by buckets of water, representing the abundance of golf courses within tucson’s arid desert. euclide utilizes local flora from the city within each structure; bits of palm husks and tumbleweed grow from the wooden structures beneath the rillito riverbed scenes. plastic bags and driftwood protrude from the island vistas to create an artificial dreamscape reminiscent of golf courses. on the outskirts of the metro area lies model resort communities formed from fertilizer. the installation is both idyllic and disturbing when critically examined within the context of the city. euclide’s work physically references the tension between our wants and our need to preserve the natural world.

Each portfolio contains eight pigment prints numbered and signed by the artist, mounted on 4-ply museum mat board, and measuring 16 x 20 inches. A pair of white museum gloves and a certificate of authenticity are included with each portfolio, as well as an original drawing by Gregory Euclide. inted on archival Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper, and measure 16 x 20 inches.
