Didi Hirsch volunteer Ester Bryant wore a photo of Amalia Magdalena who killed herself nearly two years ago. Bryant says she wore the photo to support fellow participant—and Magdalena’s daughter, Patty Soto—who hesitantly made her first public appearance as the survivor of a loved one’s suicide. Bryant is also a survivor of suicide; her son killed himself 14 years ago by sitting in an idling car in their garage.
Daniel Esterly graduated from PA Cyber in 2007. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in community engagement at Point Park University and holds a master’s degree in counseling from Carlow University, an MBA in healthcare management from the University of St. Mary, and a bachelor’s degree in applied psychology from Robert Morris University.
Through Point Park, Esterly recently started his own local radio show, “Behavior Business.” The one-hour slot airs at 2 p.m. Sundays on 670 AM Pittsburgh and can be live streamed online at WPPJradio.com. The show touches on topics of psychology and business.
