This so very sweet little white rabbit showed up on our back porch Easter Sunday 1997.
Hubby & i were sitting at the breakfast table looking over the Sunday newspaper when i looked up & saw her hopping around. i told hubby, "OMG! LOOK! The Easter Bunny has come to visit us!" Hubby, deep into reading something important like the sports section or whatever, looks at me & says, "What? huh? NO WAY!"
Well, it turned out the teenage boy next door had found her the night before about 5 miles from our home & thought he'd keep her in the backyard. Of course they have a BIG dog named BEAR & eventually bunny found a place under the fence to escape into our yard.
In the end, the kid decided he really didn't want a rabbit afterall; i posted flyers near where he'd found her & many other places. She went unclaimed, so off to our veterinarian we went. The vet said by her teeth she looked one year old. i kept this fun sweet little angel until she suddenly wasn't bouncy one day 6 years later, wouldn't eat, vet clinic was closed & later that day she died of a heart attack while i was holding her. i had fully intended to take her to the vet the next day, thinking she'd make it through the night... :(
Anyway, she was a unexpected pure joy in my live for the time she was here in our home. :)
She liked to sit on the couch with me & watch tv. OK, maybe SHE didn't watch tv... or did she? ;-)
