There's roughing it type of camping and there is camping with essentials. I will admit that when it's cold and rainy outside, the latter suits me just fine - as it did here when we were on our way back from Atlantic Canada last month and camped in an oTENTik.

Treasure Hunt #24 / Essential
When all the world appears to be in a tumult, and nature itself is feeling the assault of climate change, the seasons retain their essential rhythm. Yes, fall gives us a premonition of winter, but then, winter, will be forced to relent, once again, to the new beginnings of soft greens, longer light, and the sweet air of spring.

I'm always amazed by how high the stacks of pallets can go. I've seen higher, nobody I know on the street is THAT tall, and any ladder would have been recycled by now. So I wonder "How do they build these things so high?"
Certain things you probably can't answer on the internet. Maybe I should just ask.

Had a lovely couple of hours wandering around the gardens at Nymans (National Trust). I was only using a 60mm macro and it was a bit breezy, but the sun was out.

Previously unpublished shot from September 2019. This shot remained in my archives all of this time simply because I couldn't decide whether to post the colour or black and white edit. Enjoy!

At the end of the afternoon, we passed the Sol de Manana, a geothermal field with volcanic activity, in the Province of Sur Lípez (Bolivia). Its pools of boiling mud exude an odor of sulfur and vapors.

The obligatory composition from Normanton Church. Nice to catch it with a good amount of snow on the ground.

Todays challenge for the daily shoot was, What tools do you use and appreciate on a daily basis? Make an interesting photo of one such tool today.
Well I considered taking a shot of some of the tools out of my toolbox I keep in my office, but then thought about it, there really for decoration as I do not do hands on tech work any more so when I thought about it I had to get a shot of these, Not sure I appreciate the blackberry, but I am addicted to it and would be lost without my android Nexus one cellphone
Of course beingme I slipped in a little bit of reflection
Update on Dr's visit, it went well, not likely i will need surgery, it sees the problem is something I have had all my life, basically my knees are deformed and my knee cap doesnt sit where it should, so I start on Physical therapy on Monday twice a week for 6 weeks which hopefully will alleviate or ease the issues I have had
i still haven't found any time to take the new D7000 out for some shots, but last night i caught this image with my iphone.
i was heading home from work on my motorbike when i started to rain. it quickly turned into a downpour and i had to stop near a hardware store because i couldn't even see the road anymore. there was only one car in the parking lot and the lighting was incredible so i opened my jacket, wiped my soaking hands on my sweater and got this shot.
this is confirmation to my belief that the worse the weather is, the better the photography :-)

mostly I see a situation and optimize the point of view!
...I saw this glass of water standing on the table...I climbed on a chair to catch the stripes...and took this photo.
