Day two was going to be a Mountain Biking shot. Dropped the kids off at Soccer Camp and hit the trails a bit after 9am. about an hour + into the ride, at the farthest and lowest part of the trail, I get the call from the camp director: "your daughter is ok, we think she broke her leg, ambulance is on the way". Needless to say I raced myself back up to the parking lot and drove to meet the Ambulance, just made it ... long story short, Romy is ok, no break this time, but we are back in a boot and crutches with a bad sprain. Such is Soccer, such is Mountain Biking. Day two in the books.

I always wanted to do a " What's in your bag?" shot, so this rainy day was the day.
The contents of my bag change at times, but some aspects have become staples of me. The Airline tickets are still open and good, and I carry them with me just for that feeling of "what if" thanx for the buddy pass Dana.
The Moleskine has replaced my larger sketch book, and all this and more at times, fits well inside my treasured Saddleback Leather Briefcase.
3 shots for this HDR, which brings out the grain of the leather far better then a single shot.

I spent the day shooting a Photo Essay at Cremcaffe, a local gem. In an ocean of "one size fits all" coffee & food chains there are these little islands of tranquility where Coffee is an art-form, and a sandwich is made from the heart. To all those little coffee shops, May your Espresso Machines sing and buzz with such exciting noises and may the steam ebb and flow like the waves crashing on sandy shore. Cheers!

365 II, Done.
It wasn’t perfect by any means, and took far longer then a year, such is life, I have no regrets.
It was smooth sailing into the 300 days, but energy flows where attention goes, and mine was needed elsewhere.
I picked up at times where I left off, but couldn’t find my pace. I chose to walk, rather then run and finished the darn race.
To you my friends, light catchers, followers near and far, thank you for joining me for the ride, you set a real high bar.
Cheers and bright smiles, and a great new year.
I sure did it my way
just remember,
it's not about the gear!

Mid day Espresso time on a rainy day.
I enjoy making collages out of some of my everyday carry items, this time I am using some here that I don't always carry but each has a special meaning. I hope you enjoy this collage as a form and function pleasure. It goes well with espresso and good music. Cheers.

For the final shot my better half and I set out on a short trek up Sugerloaf Mountain this evening.
This time, I was hiking in a Kilt, and nine button boots, carrying a pack 2 tripods 4L of water 3 camera 3 lenses on the hottest day of the year.
My mom who came over to look after the grand kids for a couple of hours, said I was mad. I'm not mad, its Project 365. Cheers.
Mission Completed! Done, what a year, what a project.
365 days, no missed shots, allot of pleasure and the same amount of pain. As others have wrote in the past, not all who start will complete this project, and its not as easy as it may seem.
This project demands a relentless commitment to photography, and the will to grow. At times this commitment was hard to carry, and the camera felt heavy in my hands,
and at those times it was you, yes you, my friends and followers whose support never wavered. Thank you my fellow flickr friends and followers for each and every view comment and fave.
Many of you have become friends whose work and friendship I cherish, you know who you are. Thank You.
I started this project on a quest to re connect to photography. What I ended up with is an amazing portfolio, contacts, photography gigs in weddings, commercial and interior design, I did not expect this, nor did I plan for it.
When I set out on this project I was using a T1I DSLR camera (Rebel), its possibilities seemed endless at the time. I cannot say a bad thing about that camera, and to this day it feels special in my hands, even now when the 5DMarkII is my work horse.
This project gave me the confidence to know every button on my camera in the dark, under pressure and while moving. Shooting became and every day event, as did the preparation, and editing.
For this whole project aside from one shoot, I relayed only on available light, home made light and set ups, at times using flash lights, self made snoot covers, and even a dirty laundry hamper as a light box.
In other words...you get creative. This process forced me to consider light in every shot, every time of day and every season.
I tried to be as diverse as I can for this project, as a way of touching the water to determine what avenues I would be interested in venturing in, down the line.
This is not a fare well, nor good bye, and to answer the question, if I plan on another 365? my answer is absolutely, just not today. Next on the horizon is maybe a 52 week project, I am interested in learning more about off camera lighting, and portraiture.
Its been an amazing ride, the benefits far out wight any of the hardships along the way, and I have no regrets.
Lastly I want to thank my wife Tal and kids Romy and Leah for their outstanding support, the countless miles driven to catch a sunset, accepting the hours spent editing and gracing my view finder, time and time again.
Doing this project with out their support and excitement would not have been possible.
As the pink panther would say,
Today I'll go away but I'll be back another day.
