My 'first' Xbox 360. Plugged it in tonight. Wanted to give it a spin. Dead! Red light comes up, big ass error message on screen. What a flaming hunk of shit. I know the dead on arrival rates for this microsoft products (I should have known better) is HIGH, but I hadn't really expected my first Xbox 360 to fail within 20 seconds of booting. Anyhow, I'm going to go get my money back tomorrow.

In other news, my car would apparently like to tell me that it's won a clubman trophy... or that it would like to go for a ride on the lift. Unfortunately, the red BRAKE light stays on while I drive... this does not remind me that I need to call the service folks (who are closed today) but instead makes me worry my emergency break is on.

I wonder what the Channel 4 News team are using to edit and send out their Snowmail newsletter? For the last few days, in Apple Mail I have been seeing weird text encoding issues. The email headers don't make mention of them using Word/Outlook as their email composing tool, so perhaps this can't be blamed on the lovely Microsoft.

Boeing AV-8B+(R)-25-MC Harrier II Plus 165382 Remanufactured McDonnell Douglas AV-8B-9-MC Harrier II 162968. As 165382 (VMA-513) suffered serious fuselage, wing, and tailplane damage when collided with desert vegetation during nighttime low-altitude at MCAS Yuma sometime in 2004. Was able to land safely. Repaired and reported Oct 2007 with HMM-163. Seen as HMM-166 YX #55 on May 14, 2010

Tell the user to format their text properly.
Rather than write the code to tell the user they did something wrong the system designers could have either
1) made the entry field 2-sections (including the gap upfront themselves)
2) coded automatic placement of a gap in likely positions because a post-code has a predictable format.
