On this day, February 13th 2023, Ernst Fuchs would have been 93 years old.
To comemmorate this the Ernst Fuchs Museum held a birthday party in his honor, as every year before (except 2022 because of Covid restrictions). The event started at 7 PM and was well attended.

I wanted to send something to Instagram while I was there, so this is the "raw" before it got instagrammed. Inspired by Michael English's Hyperrealism artworks from the 1970s
In the year 2000 I took another round-the -world trip solo to see family and interview and spend time with artist friends.
This is photo is from my day with Vienna artist, De Es Schwertberger and American artist Phil Rubinov-Jacobson, who was also over for a visit at the time.
Here De Es and I are standing in front of one of his paintings.

On this day we went to the see master painter Professor Ernst Fuchs in his Vienna home, went out for lunch in the city and finally to a retrospective exhibition on the artist's work which he took me personally through. It was a fantastic day. This is one of the photos from that day.

The world needs more Aboriginal Art on cars! This is a beautiful piece, the organic tesselation of Nelsons patterns work really well with the car.

This is photo is from my day with Vienna artist, Peter Gric, who took me around to the studio of artist Luigi Lasperanza. Both are great guys and some of Viennas best younger painters in the "Fantastic Art" genre.
This is another snap of Luigi and I in front of one of his larger paintings... unfortunately there is glare, but it is a breathtaking painting I assure you.

A special Anyversary - Ernst Fuchs would have been 95 years old. Celebrating with invited guests at the Ernst Fuchs Villa, known also as the Otto Wagner Villa, in Vienna, Austria. The villa is a museum, and on this occasion, a new display room, the former bedroom, had been added.
A car and art of its time - another directly painted one and the end result works well for Penck's "Ethnic" inspired icon heavy art form. It's red and black colouring both benefits the car and Pencks detailing.

I wanted to get the contrast between the hot red of the tow ring against Litchensteins colours and circles.

This one pops and (though this applies to all these pictures) the photo really doesn't do it justice. Kayama-san's Japanese technique works incredibly well on a car, the lacquering is perfect.

This is a detail from one of his large drawings.

An amazing handpainted car by Chia, the overlapping faces reminding me of Picasso. It's a bit messy from a distance (so probably didn't look to snappy on the circuit) but damn it's complex close up and pulls you in
