Another scene from a western Oklahoma morning. Shot in my trusty AE1-P on Ilfrod HP5.

Long Island City, New York. November 3, 2022.

Built from 1897 to 1901, the Glenfinnan Viaduct was built from concrete and needs a little TLC now and then. Unfortunately the upkeep was in process when we visited, putting scaffolding, workers and their supplies in view at many locations along the structure.

For some of the compositions I had previsualized it was not possible to avoid evidence of the restoration work underway.

A new version for a book of drawings I've been working on. I've slightly altered my palette and I think I'll simplify it even further. Ideally I'd like it to be burnt umber, yellow ochre, sap green, paynes grey, cerulean blue, cobalt blue, ultramarine blue, cadmium yellow, cadmium red and alizarin crimson.

The pencil sharpener is incredible, you sharpen it in two goes to get a really long point. If I'm honest I don't carry it around with me as you have to concentrate using it rather than quickly sharpening and drawing.

I'm out for a week or so but I'm experimenting ( due to advice from a fellow flickrite) with shadows and frames...Love bright color!

Alway by your side,

In the rain, in the sunshine,

Day and night.

Useless unless and until to be together.

Tớ có 2 chân, cậu có 2 tay, mình làm bạn nhé ? :D

Handy if you realize that this may not be the best time to hatch.

I found this sod farm outside of Woodstock, Illinois. I took this pic just after dark.

During my drive through some back roads of Iowa, I came across a collection of rusted farm equipment.

It was interesting to walk among them.

The newest double decker in the Reliance fleet is Volvo B7TL Plaxton President LK03 NHP, their first President. New to First Capital North in the VNL class as 32313 (VNL32313) it later passed to Go-Ahead London General and became PVL3 yet retained the London version of the First Willowleaf ('Barbie') livery. Seen as no longer required within the group, it was sold and purchased by Reliance and was initially only for school services. It has now gained LED destination equipment which seems to mean this is now part of the fleet for normal service use, and is seen here at York Exhibition Square running the PM peak 40 service to Easingwold and Crayke

A selection of micro scale farm equipment.

I originally designed the basic tractor to sit on the micro farm layout I built for Brickfest 2005. Later that year I decided to see what I could build to go with it.

These do require custom lengths of flexible tube to be cut, for the tractor muffler, engine detail and some of the wagon attachments.

Carolina Piedmont 2079 helps bring a short train off of the BASF spur in Simsonville, South Carolina on November 8, 2022. CPDR 2079 is an EMD GP3802 built as Chicago & Northwestern (CNW) 4613 in 1979, then sold to National Railway Equipment where it became NREX 3881, to Chicago, Fort Wayne and Eastern (CFE) 3881, to CPDR 3881, to CPDR 2079 when it received the GWI orange and yellow paint.

What is now the Carolina Piedmont Railroad has a long history of mergers and acquisitions. It began as the Greenville and Laurens Railroad. The Greenville and Laurens was chartered in 1878 and arrived in Greenville in 1882. The railroad was later merged with three others in the region to form the Port Royal and Western Carolina Railway in October 1886. Ten years later, the railroad merged with the Port Royal and Augusta Railway to create the Charleston and Western Carolina Railway, which was in turn acquired by the Atlantic Coast Line in 1897.

The ACL merged with the Seaboard Airline Line in 1967 to become Seaboard Coastline and the SCL was merged into the Seaboard System in 1983. The final merger came in 1986, when the Seaboard System was merged into CSX Transportation.

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is an American shortline railroad holding company, that owns or maintains an interest in 122 railroads in the United States, Canada, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, United Kingdom and formerly Australia. It operates more than 13,000 miles of owned and leased track.

As a general rule I can identify most vintage farm equipment. Not this time. I believe this to be the remains of a very primitive, very crude harvester but I am mostly guessing. Butternut, Wisconsin, USA.
