This is a colour photograph but the colour hasn't registered !! I checked it at 100% and a few leaves in the shadows have colour but that's it. Everything was totally covered with snow. This was taken two years ago; the weather now is horrendous rain all over the UK. What a contrast between winters.
My first trip to Epping Forest and I was blessed with almost perfect colour and conditions - happiest four hours with a camera I've had for a long time.
A wetland area, currently just slightly swampy but will turn into a group of small ponds over the winter.
There's a good crop of holly berries this year.
Been experimenting with landscapes in photoshop. I took all these photographs in the last few weeks in Epping Forest.

The Northern Railway Line in Sydney (Strathfield to Hornsby) opened in 1886 and was electrified in 1926.
Epping is located 18 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district and harbour. @sydney
Not much picture wise today. Clear blue skies here in the UK which are lovely but not my favourite for photography. I enjoyed a nice walk in the woods before work and captured a few images just as the sun came up with a low depth of field to try and create a bit of atmosphere.
A sundown image of the two follies or temples in the Copped Hall gardens. The cloud colours are as I saw them in this south facing view. The image was taken just before we entertained a local group of photographers to take pictures of the grounds at night.
The Georgian mansion of Copped Hall is just south of Epping and is being restored by a team of volunteers and professionals. If you live close by there are tours every third Sunday in the month (except January). Details coppedhalltrust.org.uk

Lovely to see quite a few Large Skippers, and also some Small or Essex Skippers flitting around in sunny spots in Epping Forest. This Large Skipper was very chilled sitting in the sun on the bracken!
4953 Pitchford Hall on the Epping Ongar Railway at Blake Hall. This station is now a private residence that trains do not usually stop at. Taken during a 30742 Charters day at the railway.

A lovely late summer / early autumn evening in Epping Forest. The light looked amazing through the trees.

The forest always looks good in autumn/fall and this year is no exception. Just beginning to fade and we could use some mist before that happens.
