Typically golf courses in the Palm Springs area 'overseed' in the Fall. The grass that tolerates the heat in the summer turns brown in the winter, so the courses historically cut that grass very short and plant a winter seed on top. The process takes quite a bit of water and with the drought many courses have switched to overseeding only around the greens.

For some reason, no one every talks about the very high particulate pollution that comes from the overseeding process, both from bur cutting the summer grass in the Fall, and then bur cutting the winter grass in the Spring.

The first thing I notice about this picture is the water bottle crossed out. I think what the photo is trying to say is that the school cares about our future and they are putting their best foot forward to have a greener future by eliminating as many single-use plastics. I feel good about this because it encourages that an action as simple as bringing a reusable water bottle is beneficial for the environment but is also economically better. In schools, we are sometimes very wasteful with paper especially and this tiny step gets us closer to a better environment. In the past couple of years, we have progressed in understanding the severity of how climate change is affecting the world. This photo will potentially allow other schools to be motivated to take similar actions in their community which is super important. As a school, we can add more of these small little tasks an example would be that taking notes on your laptop instead of papers that’ll be thrown away at the end of the year. Another thing the school does as well is the automatic light switches that conserve electricity when there is no movement in the classrooms and so I believe we’re on the right path to brighten our future.

Trying to get this weeks school-assignment done quickly and easily. The entire environment is one piece (except the guns). Will tweak the textures and add more details tomorrow.

Inspired by the traditional all-night concerts along India’s Ganges River, Sun to Stars evokes the traditional durbar and bethak-style concerts where performers and audiences interact in an informal setting to create an intimate artistic experience. With a backdrop defined by both natural and urban elements, the performers present work that grapples with the environment, be it through mythological folktales or a particular raga connected to nature.

The Sun to Stars festival is solar-powered by the energy collected by the photovoltaic panels on the Solar 1 roof. The event also features a market place that includes regional South Asian cuisine from local chefs, Indian style seating with floor rugs and cushions, and information about important local South Asian and environmental nonprofit organizations.

Image Craft's ICON Themed Environments division created this new suite of office furniture, custom designed for our recently expanded Colorado office, now located in Centennial.

Shown here in various stages of production are a reception desk, media wall with podium, conference room table, storage and display credenzas, and more! The furnishings, primarily composed of shop ply and MDF, feature a zebra wood laminate with folkstone gray and matte black laminate work surfaces.

This project was produced entirely in-house in our Phoenix headquarters, from design to fabrication, and ultimately, through on-site installation. Backlit lettering and graphics are also part of the overall concept, and will be the final addition. We'll add more photos here as the project progresses.

'Bridge to Terabithia' - Katherine Paterson.

This assignment captures the parts of our environment that we take for granted. Living in a growing city like Bendigo means that the quiet, isolated places are valued by people looking for a break, or somewhere to relax. Many of these places have a quiet air, and are magical, because they remind us of places found only in books. In this photo essay I aim to explore this connection between the quiet magic in places found in our environment and the books we loved as children.

World Environment Day

World Environment Day is held each year on June 5. It is one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations (UN) stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action.

World Environment Day is celebrated in many ways in countries such as Kenya, New Zealand, Poland, Spain and the United States. Activities include street rallies and parades, as well as concerts, tree planting, and clean-up campaigns. In many countries, this annual event is used to enhance political attention and action towards improving the environment.
