It is common knowledge that trees can produce a limited range breathable oxygen bubble in a near-vacuum environment.

We still have no idea how this works.

We went to RSPB Loch Garten at Abernethy in The Cairngorms today hoping to see the Crested Tits amongst other things. Although most of the other things remained conspicuous by their absence, there were loads of little Coal Tits flitting around for us to get a few images of.

The Heligan Gardens have a Robin on wood.

A close-knit family of Canada Geese. Canada geese are excellent parents, very protective of their offspring. Young geese stay with their parents for 9-12 months. We found this family at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge, Utah.

This shot starts a new series of moms and babies.

I studied these Skylarks in flight and watched where they landed, however most of the time they were just too far away, my patience eventually paid off when this one landed close to the path allowing me to get safely in position to bag a few shots.

Friday, June 5 , World Environment Day 2015 ... Let there be more commitment for a cleaner and greener environment

Caernarfon Castle (Welsh: Castell Caernarfon), often anglicized as Carnarvon Castle, is a medieval fortress in Caernarfon, Gwynedd, north-west Wales cared for by Cadw, the Welsh Government's historic environment service. There was a motte-and-bailey castle in the town of Caernarfon from the late 11th century until 1283 when King Edward I of England began replacing it with the current stone structure. The Edwardian town and castle acted as the administrative centre of north Wales and as a result the defences were built on a grand scale. There was a deliberate link with Caernarfon's Roman past and the Roman fort of Segontium is nearby.

A Beautiful colorful bird easy to spot, but hard to photograph. Very active and energetic, doesn't stay put for long on any branch.

I chose this photo to post to "Your Best Shot 2017" (www.flickr.com/groups/yourbestshot2017/)

This image represents an important event in the world in 2017 and also an important event in my life. I started my life as a political-and-social-activist at age 15, so it seemed appropriate to mark my 50+ years as an activist at age 71 by attending the Women's March in DC on Jan 21, 2017.

The women, men, and children at the march showed support for many issues, including the environment. This image ended up in Explore, so it was not only my favorite image from the event, but became the fave of many Flickr members, too.

Women's March - Washington DC, 01/21/17

This is one of my favorite signs that I saw in DC.

I don't allow downloads on my Flickr account, but if you want to use this photo (or others from the Women's March) in protest to the current administration or to use for civil rights (for everyone) issues, or to highlight environmental issues, send me a Flickr msg with your email and the title of my image. I'll send you a jpg file.

The woman holding the sign reminds me of one of my best friends in college. She's now, like me, in her 70's, but this reminds me of her during our college days.

As much as I enjoy seeing the birds flying in a clean blue sky, I think I prefer alot of them with the 'beautiful environmen't being included in the background. These shots were taken minutes from each other as I was standing in the same location.

Air pollution is contamination of the indoor or outdoor environment by any chemical, physical or biological agent that modifies the natural characteristics of the atmosphere.

Household combustion devices, motor vehicles, industrial facilities and forest fires are common sources of air pollution. Pollutants of major public health concern include particulate matter, carbon monoxide, ozone, nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide. Outdoor and indoor air pollution cause respiratory and other diseases and are important sources of morbidity and mortality.

Air quality is closely linked to the earth’s climate and ecosystems globally. Policies to reduce air pollution, therefore, offer a win-win strategy for both climate and health, lowering the burden of disease attributable to air pollution, as well as contributing to the near- and long-term mitigation of climate change.

This fortune 50 company and Republicans hid it the middle of no where in a very rural area. Now they are trying ban solar panels in the county. we Hoosiers are not smart primates.
