Playground elements evoke the storytelling heritage of the Nanticoke Indian Tribe at Tidewater Park in Laurel, Del., on May 1, 2025. Nanticoke Indian Tribe members provided input on the design of the park, a project led by Delaware Sea Grant resulting in the park's ribbon cutting in 2024. “The Nanticoke Nation takes great pride in Tidewater Park featuring Indigenous legends highlighting the origins of the First People of the First State. Wanishii (Thank you) to the Town of Laurel, Delaware Sea Grant of the University of Delaware, and RagghiRain for their dedication and contributions to creating this project," said Avery Johnson, Chief of the Nanticoke Tribe. The World Bank conducts the Mid-Term Review for the Landscape Approach to Forest Restoration and Conservation (LAFREC).
This exercise- conducted from February 1 to February 8, 2018- included meetings with implementing stakeholders and partners and field visits to some of the activities implemented under the project.

In the wake of the Rudd Government’s backflip on climate change and uncertainty about the future of carbon pricing, environment and community groups rallied outside Parliament House to call for the replacement of Australia’s dirtiest power station.
Hundreds of people gathered on the steps of Parliament House to urge Premier Brumby and Ted Baillieu to commit to replacing Hazelwood coal-fired power station with clean energy by 2012 as a key plank of their election platform.
