This is "Ensemble Wels"'s Concert in Hafez hall, Shiraz. Last night they played some works by Schubert ,Haydn and Michael Hazod. The last is the man playing guitar. His work was a modern piece called " La Presenza" and it was hard to understand. It was a harsh music.

Chelsea Kimberley and Steven Taylor took a road trip to pick the boy up in New York City and then head out on the open road to Medford, MA. Destination: Vagina Monologues. Best-friend-Rosie and the better part of Trunk were starring and supporting and setting up and taking a powerful stand for women everywhere this V-Day weekend. Tufts proudly hosts it and we were proud to head back to our
We all know what that means: Crafts House, Diesel, Trunk, all the beautiful, beautiful face and a hundred hugs and laughs and portraits with a camera that hasn't visited Boston before.
A powerful Nor'easter was to sweep into the Northeast Saturday night and Sunday, though. CK and ST couldn't afford to be stranded in blizzards clear through till Monday morning, and played it safe and drove home early Saturday morning. It was disappointing, but that disappointment stands in stark contrast to the reassuring fulfillment of our day Friday. We saw and reconnected and that's important. It was good, if short. I'll be back in another four, kids.

"Music transcends the barriers of nations, nationalities and religions. It is through music that the universal feeling of oneness can be acheived in the twinkling of an eye".

In 2012 Premik recorded with 2011 Grammy nominee vocalist and composer Chandrika Krishnamurthy Tandon. Recording projects in 2010-2012 with Grammy award-winning producer and founder of Windham Hill Records Will Ackerman include albums by Fiona Jay Hawkins, Shambhu, Dean Boland, Rebecca Harrold, Ronnda Cadle and Masako.
Will Ackerman: ...‘The criteria for who works here go way past simple talent. Imaginary Road is my home and I’m only letting wonderful people into my home. I don’t care how talented you are; if you’re not able to wear your heart on your sleeve don’t bother to turn up. We use Keith Carlock (Sting and Steeley Dan) as a drummer too along with Arron Sterling (John Mayer and Sheryl Crow). Only last year I met Premik Russel Tubbs who plays sax and wind synths for us.

Premik, in conjunction with jazz pianist Uli Geissendoerfer heads Bangalore Breakdown, an exciting, world music ensemble. They released their first CD, titled Diary, in 2008. In the words of noted Jazz author Bill Milkowski: Is it world music? Is it jazz? Is it some kind of new uncategorizable fusion that hasn’t yet been labeled?

Premik and Uli Geissendoerfer will soon be releasing their own collaborative duo CD titled Passport to 'Happyness' (yes, happiness with a 'y'') www.ulimusic.com
Premik will soon be featured in Carman Moore's Cd “Concerto for Ornette” in which Premik will play the orchestral solo saxophone part. Premik is also the featured saxophonist with SKYBAND on its recording of Carman Moore’s “DON AND BEA IN LOVE,” a fantasy concept album roughly about the intense Renaissance love between Dante and Beatrice which, in part, takes place in outer space! Carman Moore is a 2013 Guggenheim Fellowship winner. www.carmanmoore.com

I shot two photos at the Ensemble / HCC Station before I went inside the MATCH building for the transit activist meeting. This photo was taken on the east side of Main Street looking at a train pulling alongside the northbound platform. Main Street has two lanes for automobile traffic, one on each side of the double track Red Line and its center platform. I just happened to shoot this photo with no cars on Main Street. Most stations like this one are split island platforms such that northbound and southbound trains stop along different sectors of the platform, and a fence prevents passengers from falling onto the track of the opposite direction.
Houston MetroRail stations usually have an overhead rain shed, artwork, and landscaping, plus the usual benches, ticket machine, electronic pass readers, system map, and arrival display. Visible in the background is an example of Transit Oriented Development. Not all stations have attracted new TOD, but its features include wide sidewalks with trees to serve pedestrians and mid-rise buildings with retail stores, restaurants, and bars on the ground floor and apartments or condos on the upper floors. Parking is in the back rather than the front of the building which faces the transit line or pedestrian mall.

hacked USB turntables, 9v batteries, dc motor controllers, laser cut plywood, various tins, balls and boxes, rubber bands, santalum acuminatum seeds, marbles, string, bric-a-brac
dimensions variable
year of production 2016
'an aleatoric ensemble' comprises an open-ended number of similar units, each using a small modified USB turntable as the core component. The important modification is the installation of a DC Motor Controller to allow for variable speed RPM (revolutions per minute).
Laser cut plywood platens, roughly the size of a vinyl LP, attach to the turntable. These platens serve as a surface for the installation of combinations of trays, boxes and tins which have been prepared by trapping or placement of various balls, spherical seeds (eg Santalum acuminatum), marbles, discs, cylinders and other small objects.
Set in motion, the constructions turn, objects move, balls roll, surfaces are struck - a strangely captivating, repetitive but always slightly variant musicality is perpetually generated.
Multiple turntables with various combinations of prepared objects are set in motion simultaneously to create complex soundscapes. Each instrument/device can be played by slight variations in RPM, and the addition or subtraction of sounding devices (pingpong balls, bottle caps, tape dispenser cores, quandong seeds, marbles, superballs, etc).
